Brace for monsoon showers!
The weather department has predicted showers across Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, with monsoon being fairly active over the country and moderate to strong elsewhere over the North Bay.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” the department said in its bulletin on Thursday morning.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Rainfall activity may continue for the next two days, it added.
The weather office recorded the highest rainfall at 109mm in Cox’s Bazar in 24 hours till 6am on Thursday.
The highest temperature was recorded at 35.2 degrees Celsius in Ishwardi of Rajshahi division, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 25 degrees in Sitakunda of Chattogram division.
The monsoon trough runs through Panjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to Assam across central parts of Bangladesh, as per the bulletin.
One of its associated troughs extends up to the Northeast Bay, it added.

Monsoon showers likely in parts of country
The weather department has predicted showers in parts of Bangladesh in next 24 hours commencing 9am on Monday as Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” the department said in its bulletin Monday morning.
Day temperature may rise slightly over western part and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

The weather office recorded the highest rainfall at 81mm in Patuakhali of Barishal division in 24 hours till 6am on Monday.
The highest temperature was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 24 degree Celcius in Sitakunda.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends upto Northwest Bay, as per the bulletin.

Rains likely to quell heat in Bangladesh
Expect some respite from the scorching heat and frustrating humidity, as the weather department has predicted monsoon showers at many places across the country in 24 hours.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy rainfalls at places over the country,” the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in its forecast.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
The Met office recorded the highest 35mm rainfall in Sylhet district in 24 hours till 6am on Thursday.
The mercury reached 36 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Rajshahi, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25 degrees in Sylhet.
Meanwhile, the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, and Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across the southern part of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay, as per the bulletin.

Monsoon showers to bring relief from heat across country
Monsoon showers at many places across the country in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Tuesday may give respite from scorching heat and humid weather.
“Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka & Chattogram divisions,” said a Met Office bulletin.
“Moderately heavy to heavy falls are likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna & Barishal divisions with at places over northern part of the country,” it said .

However, a mild heat wave sweeping over Khulna division, some districts in Rajshahi and Pabna may continue.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
In synoptic situation BMD said, trough of low extended from Southern part of Bihar to Gangetic West Bengal persists. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

A mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Khulna, Satkhira, Jashore and Chudanga and it may continue and spread, as per the forecast.
The maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6 am on Wednesday was recorded at 104 mm in Srimangal.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions and at a few places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions," the Bangladesh Meteorology Department said on Friday.

In an extended outlook for the next 72 hours, the BMD said the southwest monsoon winds may advance further.
The maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6 am on Friday was recorded at 67 mm in Sylhet.

Early monsoon showers likely over Bangladesh
Early monsoon showers are likely to drench the eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours, said the Met office on Saturday.
“Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi & Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country, “according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave may continue over Rajshahi, Khulna, Bagerhat & Satkhira districts.
