BCL attacks Samajtantrik Chhatra Front at Eden College
BCL activists of Eden College have allegedly attacked Samajtantrik Chhatra Front activists during a human chain rally in front of the College around 1.30 pm on Monday.
Eden College unit president of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front Saima Afroze, and general secretary Shahinur Shumi along with some other activists were injured in the attack.
Demanding proper justice for the incident, Injured Shahinur Shumi said about ten minutes after submitting their memorandum to the principal they were attacked.
"They abused us, tore our banner, and tried to snatch the phone of our president (Saima Afroze) to delete the videos. We have been organizing different programs since last month demanding to start bus services on eight routes and to improve the quality of the canteen food. As a part of that ongoing program they submitted a memorandum to the principal asking to implement their claims," she replied when asked about their program.

"When we reached our tent at 'Koroitola' after completing their activities, some BCL activists of Eden College under the leadership of Eden College Chhatra League president Jesmin Riva and general secretary Razia Sultana attacked us," she said.
Samajtantrik Chhatra Front also alleged that BCL activists attacked them when they were collecting donation money for the flood-hit people of Sylhet.
Asked about the allegation, BCL president of Eden College Chhatra League Tamanna Jesmin Riva said, "As far as I know nothing such happened in the campus. There is college administration and everything have to go through a systematic process but they didn't follow it."
"There are around 40000 students in this College, if you want to collect money from the students you have to take permission from the administration but idid hey maintain it?” she added.
Condemning the attack, Samajtantrik Chhatra Front central panel formed a human chain in front of anti terrorist Raju monument sculpture of University of Dhaka at 3.30 pm in the afternoon.

BCL attacks Progressive Students Union protest rally against Ctg depot fire
Some activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League attacked a protest rally of progressive students organisations in front of Shahbagh police station on Monday evening.
The incident occurred around at 6.45 pm when progressive student organizations went for a protest rally from in front of the national museum demanding proper investigation into the BM Container Depot fire, arrest of its owner and proper amends to the victims and their families.
"Anik Roy, vice-president of the student union, was badly injured in the attack and received eight stitches on his head at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. Besides several more of our activists were injured ,” said Acting President of Bangladesh Socialist Student Front, Joydeep Vatyacharya .
"We were on our way to the Raju sculpture with the procession and as we reached in front of Shahbagh police station, BCL leaders and activists suddenly attacked us with bricks and stones", he added.

According to another witness, some BCL leaders and activists were going toward Shahbag on motorcycles when they were blocked by the procession of leftist organizations.
They allowed an ambulance to pass but did not allow the BCL leaders and activists to do so which led to an altercation and soon it turned violent, he said.
Moudut Hawlader, Officer-in-Charge of Shahbagh police station said, "I was informed about the incident. The leaders and activists of the leftist organizations were attacked by BCL men due to a quarrel between them over not allowing them to cross the road but we did not get any complaint yet in this regard. "

However, the victims of progressive students organizations were identifying the attackers as Masruk Hasan Sujon, follower of Siam-Master Da Surja Sen hall(DU) Chhatra League general secretary- Najmul Hasan Rupu, Dhaka University Chhatra League Human resources development deputy secretary.
