The Odd Couple
StageOne Dhaka showcases 'The Odd Couple' at BSA
Theatre group StageOne Dhaka Tuesday presented "The Odd Couple," their 11th play, at the Experimental Theater Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).
Dominic Gomes translated and directed the play in Bangla based on American playwright Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple."
The story of the comedy revolves around two best friends, Felix Unger who is disciplined and organised, and Oscar Madison, a sports journalist who intends to lead a carefree life.
Felix has a tendency of teasing people around him and revealing their flaws. His wife kicks him out of the house due to his behaviour.

Oscar enjoys living a free-spirited life. He has many bad habits, including never helping his wife with household chores, living in disarray, and being addicted to gambling. His wife also leaves him due to his lifestyle.
Celebrating their common conjugal miseries, the two friends begin to live together. As the play progresses, the two closest friends' relationship becomes increasingly unstable.
Felix, who is self-disciplined, strives to keep Oscar from being irresponsible. Oscar is irritated by this, and the friends get into a fight. Felix is thrown out of Oscar's house at the end of the play.
Dhaka audiences enjoyed the play and laughed out loud, complementing the masterful acting of the characters played by Bappaditya Chowdhury, Jubayer Jahid, Bindu Sumon Rozario, Amitav Razib, Mahafuz Munna and Ahmed Shawon.
