Army beat Chattogram 4-2 to clinch Bangabandhu National Football title
Army lifted the Bangabandhu National Football Championship title beating Chattogram 4-2 in the final at the Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur Monday.
Imtiaz, Imran, Shohaf and Mamun scored one each for Army who dominated the first half 3-1. Borhan and Omar scored one each for Chattogram from penalties in each half.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Executive committee member and former general secretary Harun-ur Rashid enjoyed the day's final, and later distributed the trophies.
BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag was also present.
Champions Army was awarded prize money of Tk3 lakh, and runners-up Chattogram got Tk2 lakh in addition to trophies and medals.

Army's Imtiaz was adjudged the best player and the highest scorer of the tournament after netting six goals.
Uttam Barua of Chattogram was named the best goalkeeper. Imam Hossain of Army was adjudged the best coach, and Saif Doha the best referee.
Earlier, Army booked a berth in the final outplaying Mymensingh District 5-0 goals in the first semifinal.
Chattogram beat Magura 4-2 in a tie-breaker as the second semifinal between them ended in a 1-1 draw Friday.
Seventy-two teams participated in the first phase of the national football competition that began in December last year, and later ten teams took part in the final round.
