Three students hacked for interrupting drug-taking in city
Three students were hacked by some drug addicts in the capital's Darus Salam area due to creating interruption in their drug taking on Friday, leaving them critically injured.
The victims are Arafat Ismail Alif, 18, a student of Agriculture Diploma Institute, Tanvir Khan Hemantu, 19, a student of Mirpur Polytechnic College and Abdur Rahman Rahi, 18, a student of Bangla College.
They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by locals immediately.
Md. Bachchu Mia, Inspector-in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police outpost, said that the injured are being treated at the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College.
The matter has been reported to the concerned police station, he added.

Three, including two children, drown in Sitakunda
Three people, including two children, drowned in separate incidents in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram district on Tuesday.The deceased were identified as Md. Sohel (44), son of Rafikul Islam and resident of Muradpur union of the upazila, Ishan Das, 3, son of Mithun Das and resident of South Edulpur, and Abraham, 1.5 years, son of Jahed Hossain and resident of Sayedpur union.Dr. Nur Uddin Rashed, Health and Family Planning officer of Sitakund Upazila, said that from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, three people, including two children, who drowned in water bodies in different areas of the upazila, were brought to the health complex.

Couple among three killed in Cumilla road accident
Three people including a couple were killed as a private car carrying them crashed into a roadside tree on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Illiotganj area of the district Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Gias Uddin Mahmud Farazi, an employee of Feni land office, his wife Jahanara Begum and Jahanara’s sister Salma Akter.

Premdhan Majumdar, in-charge of Illiotganj highway police camp, said the accident occurred around 7 am when the private car driven by Gias Uddin hit a roadside tree and fell into a roadside ditch amid a heavy downpour, leaving all of the three dead on the spot.

Collision involving three vehicles leaves 3 dead in B’baria
Three people were killed and 20 others were injured in a road crash involving a bus, a pick-up van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Alinagar in Bijoynazar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday, said police.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The accident occurred around 6 pm, leaving three people dead on the spot and 20 others injured, said Sukhendo Ghosh, officer-in-charge of Highway Police Station.

On information, police rushed to the spot and conducted the rescue operation.
Vehicular movement on the highway came to a halt for some time following the accident.
