A 22-year-old youth committed suicide by jumping under the wheels of a train after failing to convince his girlfriend at Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur district on Sunday, police said. The deceased was identified as  Mostakim, son of Mohubar Rahman, a resident of Sanderai village of the upazila. Mostakim jumped under the wheels of the Dhaka-bound 'Panchagarh Express' train from Panchagarh leaving his girlfriend standing beside the railway track, said Ershadul Haque, in charge of Railway Police Station. The girl was immediately taken into protective custody by Bazlur Rashid, in charge of Chirirbandar police station, to prevent coercion.
