1 killed, 5 others in family injured in Shariatpur road accident
A man was killed and five others in his family were injured when the private car carrying them overturned at Konekshwar union in the Damudya upazila of Shariatpur district.
The deceased, Kawsar Majhi, 26, was a resident of the Char Voyra area of Damudya upazila and son of Barek Majhi.

The family was returning home from Dhaka Airport after receiving Al-Amin Majhi, the elder brother of the deceased.
According to locals and police, the car turned upside down and fell into a nearby pond after the driver lost control due to dense fog at around 3 am.
Police rescued them with the help of locals and rushed them to hospital. Kawsar died on the way to hospital, said Sofi Ullah, SI of Damudya police station.

One of the injured was sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment.

Father, daughter killed Shariatpur road crash
A 42-year-old man and his three-year-old daughter were killed and three other people injured as a private car carrying them plunged into a roadside ditch in Shariatpur early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as advocate Rashedul Islam, who was an assistant public prosecutor of the district judge court and his daughter Maisha.
The injured were lawyer’s wife Sohana Akter Mili, 26, daughter Merin, 6 and driver Kamrul Hasan, 30, residents of Bhasanchar area under Aungaria union of Sadar upazila.
Jahirul Islam, president of district bar association, said Rashedul along with his family members was returning to Shariatpur from Chattogram.
The car plunged into the roadside ditch in Jamtala area under Naria upazila of the district around 2.30am, leaving the duo dead on the spot, he said.
Mahabub Alam, officer-in-charge of Naria police station, said they recovered the bodies from the spot and rescued the injured people.

Gazipur teacher-couple found dead in car
A teacher-couple was found dead inside their private car in the Borobari area of Gazipur district on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as AKM Ziaur Rahman Mamun, the headmaster of Tongi Shaheed Smriti High School, and his wife Mahmuda Akter Joly, an assistant teacher with Tongi Amzad Ali Sarkar Pilot High School and College.
Md Nandalal, officer-in-charge of Gacha Police Station, said that the couple's son Meraj spotted the bodies inside their car, near their house in the morning and informed police.

On information, a team from the local police station soon reached the spot and sent the bodies to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy.
On Wednesday, the couple did not return home from work.
Meraj claimed to have spoken to his parents in the evening on the mobile phone. He also informed the cops later that night when his parents didn't return home and their phones were switched off.
“A probe has been ordered,” the OC said.
