AFC U-20 Asian Cup: Bangladesh finish on winning note beating Nepal 3-0
Bangladesh youth team completed their Group B engagement of the five-nation AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers with winning note outplaying beating Himalayan nation Nepal by 3-0 goals in their last group match at the Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Bin Khalifa Stadium in Bahrain Sunday night.
They clearly dominated the first half and led by 2-0 goals at the break.
Following this match, Qatar still dominated the group with their all-win record securing full nine points from three matches while hosts Bahrain and Bangladesh followed with seven points each, but the former enjoying the advantage in terms of goal difference (+6 over Bangladesh), and having a game in hand.
By virtue of the day's well merited victory, the slim chance of Bangladesh to reach the 16- team final round of the meet is alive if Qatar can beat Bahrain by a good margin in the last group match on Monday, and results in other groups favour them - only the best second-placed teams get to qualify for next round.Two top teams of the group, Qatar and Bahrain, will meet each other Tuesday night (Sept 19).Earlier, Bangladesh Youth team played goalless draw with stronger Bahrain in the first match last Saturday, tasted the first victory beating Bhutan by 2-1 goals in the 2nd match last Monday and conceded 0-3 goals defeat in the 3rd match against Qatar, the hosts of FIFA World Cup 2022.

AFC U-20 Asian Cup: Bangladesh suffer 0-3 defeat against Qatar; Play Nepal on Sunday
The final round berth of Bangladesh from Group B of the five-nation AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers has become uncertain losing to stronger Qatar by 0-3 goal at the Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Bin Khalifa Stadium in Bahrain Friday night.
In Friday's crucial match, Ahmed Al Rawi made a hattrcik scoring all three goals for the FIFA World Cup '2022 hosts Qatar in the 23rd, 60th and 90+2 minutes.
After the match, Qatar dominated the group with all-win record securing full nine points from three matches, followed by hosts Bahrain with seven points and Bangladesh with four points.

The slim chance of Bangladesh to reach the 16- team final round is still alive if they can beat all losers Nepal in their last group match on Sunday at 9:pm Bangladesh time at the same venue.
Two top teams, Qatar and Bahrain, will meet each other on Monday (Sept 19) to decide the group champions.
Earlier, Bangladesh Youth team played goalless draw with stronger Bahrain in the first match last Saturday and tested the first victory beating Bhutan by 2-1 goal in the 2nd match last Monday.

Bangladesh took a solo lead in the five-nation Group B of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers beating Bhutan by 2-1 goal in their 2nd match at the Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Bin Khalifa Stadium in Bahrain Monday night
After the match, the red and green boys dominated the Group B with unbeaten record securing four points from two matches while Bhutan went down to the 3rd slot with three points from two encounters..
Earlier, Bangladesh made a good start in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers after playing goalless draw with stronger Bahrain in their soil in the first match at the same venue last Saturday.

In the 2nd Group B match, Pias Ahmmed Nova put Bangladesh team ahead in the 33rd minute pushing the ball home, capitalizing an accurate pass from winger Rafiqul Islam (1-0).
Bhutan created strong pressure over Bangladesh from the very beginning of the 2nd half and took it fruit immediately as Santa Kumar Limboo leveled the margin in the 59th minute by an angular shot from the right wing (1-1)
Ashraful Haque Asif scored the match winning goal for Bangladesh just two minutes before the final whistle (2-1).

In other group matches, Bhutan beat Nepal by 2-0 goals and Qater outplayed Nepal by 3-1 goals.
Bangladesh, which was placed in strong Group B of the Asian qualifying round with stronger Qatar, hosts Bahrain, Nepal and Bhutan, will play Qatar on Sept 16 and Nepal on Sept 18 in the remaining group matches.
A total 43 Asian countries, split into 10 groups, are competing in the first phase of the meet.
Later, ten group champions and five best runners-up teams alongwith hosts Uzbekistan will play in the 16-team final round of the meet in Uzbekistan next year.

AFC U-20 Asian Cup: Bangladesh hold stronger Bahrain to a goalless draw
Bangladesh U-20 Football team made a good start in the five-nation AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers after playing goalless draw with stronger Bahrain in one of the two opening day matches at Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Bin Khalifa Stadium in Bahrain Saturday.
With this well merited draw, Bangladesh boys earned a creditable point from their upper ranked Gulf nation in their first match.
Bangladesh boys brilliantly faced their much superior Arabian rivals till the last whistle to snatch an important point.

Hosts Bahrain dominated the match for most of the proceedings with 64 percent ball possession and came close score on five occasions, but all of their attempts were foiled near confident defense line-up of touring Bangladesh.
Bangladesh managed one chance but failed to utilize it.
Bangladesh, which was placed in strong Group B of the Asian qualifying round with stronger Qatar, hosts Bahrain, Nepal and Bhutan, will play Bhutan on Monday (Sept 12), Qatar on Sept 16 and Nepal on Sept 18 in the remaining matches.
