Josep Borrell, high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy, arrived in Iran for talks with Iranian senior officials on multiple issues, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi said Monday.

The European Union's new foreign affairs chief is traveling to Iran to meet with the country's leaders, the Iranian official news agency said on Sunday, amid high regional tensions.

Top European diplomats emerged from a Tuesday meeting saying continuing outside interference is fuelling the crisis in Libya and that there is no military solution to it.
