SAFF champions’ luggage “intact” when handed over to BFF staff, Dhaka airport authority says
The authority of Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport said the luggage of 2022 SAFF champion footballers were received by the Bangladesh Football Federation representative in a “locked and intact” condition.
The authority also said they did not find any irregularity in handling the luggage at the airport, after going over CCTV footage.
Earlier, at least two members of the Bangladesh women’s football team claimed their luggage were broken into at the airport and money was stolen.

The footballers said they lost around Tk 2.5 lac which was in their luggage.
“After receiving the complaint, we checked the CCTV footage and found that the complaint (of luggage being broken into) is not true,” a press release from HSIA authority reads.
The press release was signed by the executive director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Kamrul Islam.

SAFF Women's Championship 2022 winner Bangladesh team landed in Dhaka on Wednesday around 1:45 pm. They were taken to the headquarters of Bangladesh Football Federation from there by an open-deck bus.
It was the first time that a Bangladesh women’s football team won the SAFF Championship.

Dhaka welcomes victorious Tigresses with fitting fanfare
Bangladesh national women's football team, which emerged as winner in the seven-nation SAFF Women’s Football Championship with all-win record, was accorded a fitting reception as they returned home from Nepal this afternoon.
Bangladesh clinched the first-ever SAFF Women's crown in their 2nd attempt after 2006, beating four times runners up and hosts Nepal by 3-1 in the final at Dashrath Stadium (Rangasala) in Kathmandu Monday evening.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel received the team at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 1:50 pm.

The players and officials were welcomed at the airport with garlands and then they cut a cake. Thousands of football-crazy fans thronged Dhaka airport to welcome the women footballers for their glorious achievement.
Bangladesh captain Sabina Khatun, midfielder Sanjida Akter spoke to the press in a short briefing at the airport.

SAFF Champion Tigresses return home
Bangladesh national women's team is back home after winning the SAFF Women’s Football Championship, beating Nepal in the final.
The team reached Dhaka around 1:50 pm today.
Before the flight arrived in Dhaka, thousands of supporters arrived in groups and waited outside Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. They were shouting slogans, congratulating the girls.

Bangladesh beat Maldives, Pakistan, India and Nepal on their way to the ultimate victory. Bangladesh scored 23 goals in the event and conceded only one in the final.
