Outstanding SAFF performance: PM gives away cheques to Bangladesh women’s football team
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday (November 09, 2022) handed over cheques among players, coaches, and officials of the Bangladesh national women's Football team for winning the SAFF Women’s Championship 2022 in September.
She handed over the cheques at a programme held at the Shapla Hall of Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The event was held to accord reception and give away money and financial honorarium to members of the Bangladesh national women's Football team for their outstanding performance in SAFF championship.
Each player got a cheque of Tk 5 lakh while each coach and other officials got Tk 2 lakh each.

Bangladesh women’s team lifted the SAFF title 2022 by beating four-times finalist and hosts Nepal 3-1 in Kathmandu on September 19 last.

SAFF champions’ luggage “intact” when handed over to BFF staff, Dhaka airport authority says
The authority of Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport said the luggage of 2022 SAFF champion footballers were received by the Bangladesh Football Federation representative in a “locked and intact” condition.
The authority also said they did not find any irregularity in handling the luggage at the airport, after going over CCTV footage.
Earlier, at least two members of the Bangladesh women’s football team claimed their luggage were broken into at the airport and money was stolen.

The footballers said they lost around Tk 2.5 lac which was in their luggage.
“After receiving the complaint, we checked the CCTV footage and found that the complaint (of luggage being broken into) is not true,” a press release from HSIA authority reads.
The press release was signed by the executive director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Kamrul Islam.

SAFF Women's Championship 2022 winner Bangladesh team landed in Dhaka on Wednesday around 1:45 pm. They were taken to the headquarters of Bangladesh Football Federation from there by an open-deck bus.
It was the first time that a Bangladesh women’s football team won the SAFF Championship.

PM’s gift: New house for Tigress Rupna in Rangamati
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities concerned to build a house for Rupna Chakma, goalkeeper of Bangladesh women’s football team who clinched the title of SAFF Women’s Championship 2022, in her hometown Rangamati.
Sheikh Hasina, who is in New York at the moment to attend the 77th UNGA, gave the directive after a picture of Rupna Chakma's dilapidated house went viral on social media and came to her notice.
