Bishwa Ijtema: Traffic movement to be halted on Abdullahpur, Bhogra, Kamarpara tomorrow morning
As done during the first phase of Bishwa Ijtema, Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) has issued some traffic directives to ease devotees commuting to and from the congregation ground.
Movements of vehicles from Tongi to Bhogra Bypass on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, Kamarpara Road, Abdullahpur to Bypile on Ashulia Road will remain suspended from 6 am Sunday (January 22, 2023) till the end of Akheri Munajat, said GMP Commissioner Mollah Nazrul Islam.

The GMP commissioner requested commuters to use the bypass road to avoid traffic gridlock.
The second phase of Bishwa Ijtema started on Friday (January 20, 2023) morning and it will end through the Akheri Munajat on Sunday morning.

With few public transport on roads, Dhaka wears a deserted look
Public transports were seemingly off Dhaka roads this morning, ahead of BNP’s last divisional rally in the capital city.
No public transport was seen plying the roads since morning; only some CNG-run auto-rickshaws were seen.
BNP is ready to hold its 10th divisional rally at Golapbagh field in the capital and thousands of leaders and activists of the party have thronged the rally venue.

Traffic movement halted in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan office
A day after a clash and police action in Nayapaltan, a tense situation is prevailing in the area in Dhaka where traffic movement remained disrupted since Wednesday (December 07, 2022) night.
No one is being allowed to enter the area without ID as police set up barricades at the Nightingale intersection in Bijoynagar and Fakirapool crossings. No vehicles were seen in front of the BNP office.
A huge number of law enforcers remained deployed in the area with armoured and police vehicles.

No BNP leaders and activists have been seen at the party office since this morning, after Wednesday’s clash.
However, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is supposed to visit the Nayapaltan office after appearing before a Dhaka court in the morning (December 08, 2022), Sayrul Kabir Khan, a BNP media cell member, told UNB.

Traffic alert: DMP requests Dhaka commuters to avoid Khilkhet-Uttara-Gazipur route
Dhaka Metropolitan Police have requested commuters to avoid the route from Khilkhet through Uttara to Gazipur today (October 25, 2022), due to a long tailback.
Uttara Traffic Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police issued an alert, saying that heavy rains induced by the Cyclone Sitrang has caused waterlogging at different points in Gazipur on Dhaka-Mymensingh road.

Due to the big holes in the road and waterlogging, vehicle movement from Khilkhet through Uttara to Mohakhali has been seriously disrupted, it said.
In this situation, commuters are requested to not use the Khilkhet-Uttara-Gazipur route unless urgent.
