Dhaka: Fire breaks out at packaging factory
The fire which broke out at a packaging factory in the Matuile College Road area of the city on Thursday morning doused in the afternoon.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported till the filling of this report.
Earlier, the blaze began at the corrugated iron-sheet roof packaging factory in Konapara around 7.35am, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

Six fire tenders were pressed into the service and it took nearly five hours to douse the flame.
The extent of the damages could not be ascertained yet.

Pirojpur: Fire breaks out at upazila market
Several shops were gutted in a massive fire that broke out at Indurhat Bazar in Nesarabd upazila of the district on Tuesday night, police said.
The blaze began around 11pm at an eyewear showroom and soon engulfed the adjacent shops, said Abir Md Hossain, officer-in-charge of Nesarabad police station.

"Two fire tenders were pressed into service and the blaze was contained around 12.30am," he said. “Fortunately, no casualties were reported.”
Fire officials suspect that an electrical short-circuit triggered the fire.

"Anyway, a probe has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage," a fire official said.

Fire at Chawkbazar high-rise doused
A fire that broke out in a 16-storied building named Madina Ashiq Tower at Chawkbazar in the city on Saturday evening has been doused.

The fire started at 6:09 pm on the seventh floor of the building and it was doused at 6:38 pm with the effort of four firefighting units, said Shahjahan Sikder, DAD (media cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.
However, the origin of the fire could not be known yet and no casualties were reported, he said.

Fire breaks out near Bangabandhu National Stadium
A fire broke out at Sheikh Russel Complex near Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday morning.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported till the filling of this report.
Sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defense control room said the blaze started at the solar panel board on the third floor of the complex around 11.25am, creating panic among people.
On information, two fire tenders were pressed into service and they extinguished the blaze around 12:20 pm. However, what caused the fire could not be known immediately.

Fire breaks out at Rajbari Jute Mills
A fire broke out at a jute mill in the Aladipur area of Rajbari Sadar upazila early on Friday morning. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Md Nazrul Islam, assistant director of Faridpur fire service and civil defense, said the blaze started around 6 am in an oil tanker in production unit-1 of Rajbari Jute Mills in the Aladipur area and engulfed other areas of the factory soon.

The first fire tender took nearly two hours to reach the spot and later five more joined in. "The fire was brought under control after another two hours," Nazrul said. "Efforts are now on to fully douse the flames."
However, the mill owner and workers claimed that the fire did not originate from an oil tanker.
Md Salauddin Sheikh, additional police superintendent of Rajbari, said they were working to ensure the safety of the mill workers.

Fire breaks out at Gulshan building
A 12-storey building in the city’s Gulshan area caught fire on Monday.
Farhad Abdul Momin, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, said the fire broke out on the 9th floor of the building near DNCC Market around 4 pm and it spread around soon.

He said seven units of firefighters extinguished the blaze around 4:40 pm.
But he could not say what actually caused the fire. However, there was no report of any casualty till the filing of the report around 5:45 pm.

Fire breaks out at Gazipur jhut godown
A fire broke out in a garment jhut( waste fabric) godown at Kathaltola area of Konabari in Gazipur on Friday, fire service said.
The fire originated around 4:30pm from Khokon Mia’s godown and spread out soon to five to seven more adjacent godowns.

On information, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and were trying to tame down the fire, said Abdul Hamid Mia, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service and civil defence control room.

Fire at Gulshan high-rise brought under control
A fire broke out at a high-rise building in the Gulshan-2 area of Dhaka on Friday around 9pm.
On information, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after 20 minutes. The fire had broken out on the third floor of the 14-storied building.
Sources said that fire originated around 9pm.

However, the source of the fire could not be known immediately.
No casualties were reported, said Md. Raihan, Station Officer of Media Cell, Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters. "The fire was doused at 10:40pm."

Fire breaks out at a bakery in city’s Nawabpur
A fire broke out Tuesday night at a bakery in old Dhaka’s Alu Bazar road in Nawabpur area.
Eight fire fighting teams managed to douse the flame at around 8:58 pm.
No casualties were reported in the incident.

According to fire service sources the fire broke out around 8:20 pm and the fire service teams reached the scene around 8:26 pm.
The origin of the fire and the extent of damages from it couldn’t be identified yet, said Raihanul Islam, station Officer (media) at Fire Service Headquarters.

Kalyanpur slum fire under control
The fire occurred at 9pm, said Mahfuz Riven, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.
Ten fire-fighting units brought the fire under control around 11pm, he said.
