Oppo Reno 9 Pro 5G Review: Build for Efficiency
Oppo launches its next-generation Reno series on December 2 in China, targeting the Christmas season. While Oppo launches two phones every year in December, the brand will release three phones, Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and the Reno 9 Pro+, this year. The Reno series comes with a good design and an upgraded powerful chip. Apart from these, the phones also have some other tremendous features. Let’s take a look at the key specs of the Oppo Reno 9 Pro 5G.
Key Features of Oppo Reno 9 Pro 5G
Design
Comes in Black, Gold, and Pink Gradient, Reno 9 Pro has a similar design to Reno 8 series. But, on the new series, the camera island is flush with the rest of it while the lenses are protruding. It has a light, thin body with a matte finish in the back. The dual camera is located on the top left corner of the back with an integrated LED flash.
The phone has a volume rocker button on the left edge, while the power button is on the right. The Reno 9 series comes with a BORDI curve curved display like the Samsung galaxy 6 edge phone. While the company nicely finished the curved edges, it also worked on optimizing the edges, making a 2.3 mm thick chin.

The dimensions of this are 162.3 by 74.2 by 7.2 mm. Weighing 174g, Reno 9 Pro appears easy to carry. The phone also comes with a dual Nano-SIM tray on the side. So you can use two SIM at a time, which also gives a dual standby feature.
You will find a pinhole camera in the top middle part of the display. However, the camera is nicely positioned and doesn’t compromise the screen-to-body ratio of the display. It has an 89.7% screen-to-body ratio. The bottom edge has a charging port with the speaker.
Display
The Oppo Reno 9 Pro 5G has AMOLED display with HDR10+ that has a 120Hz display. In addition to that, the Reno 9 has 950 nits of peak brightness and lets you use the phone under the scorching sun. It can reach 800 nits maximum brightness in sunlight while up to 950 nits when you view HDR photos as well as HDR10+ content.

The display size is 6.7 inches, which is the minimum size for most flagship phones nowadays. The phone has 1080 x 2412 pixels with a 20:9 ratio. The display is protected with Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2, which is scratch-resistant glass with outstanding strength.
Camera
Reno 9 Pro comes with a dual camera setup with a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide secondary camera. And with the blend of these two cameras, you can take incredible pictures day and night.
The LED flash will help you to take photos in the dark. Other additional features of the cameras are you can take HDR and panorama photos. The phone also provides great support for videos. It can shoot 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps videos. It is also sported with gyro-EIS that helps detect movement while taking videos and stabilize the video withing requiring any software trick.

Now let’s talk about selfie cameras. Reno 9 Pro 5G features a autofocus 32 MP RGBW selfie camera. It gives a 20 mm wide angle view when you take selfies and features panorama and HDR. Additionally, you will also get gyro-EIS for the front camera. It can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.
Software and Platform
The phone runs on the Android 13 Operating system, which blends its ColorOS 13. OPPO incorporates its latest technological innovations in bolded UI concepts in Aquamorphic Design to make life very simple and enjoyable. Good for mobile interfaces, ColorOS 13 offers intelligent connectivity, facilitating multitasking and enhancing efficiency. Additionally, the Theme Palette can change the color of light between sunrise and sunset at sea level.
Reno 9 Pro is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max (5 nm) chip with an Octa-core CPU. The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 is a very popular Android chipset, thanks to its unmatched balance between performance and efficiency. So, you can expect a smooth performance from your Reno 9 Pro 5G.

Additionally, the phone is equipped with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. Mali-G610 is specially designed to handle complex use cases from gaming to machine learning (ML) for all your APIs, such as Vulkan 2 and open CL. It offers many premium features to give a smooth performance on Android devices.
Memory
As per the announcement, the Reno 9 Pro will come in two variations, 256GB 16GB RAM and 512GB 16GB RAM featuring UFS 3.1 storage. The UFS Flash storage, specifically designed to fulfill the requirements of 5G, is engineered to support enormous storage capacity and fast read/write data speeds. Up to a terabyte of information is housed in an extremely compact, handheld device layout.
So, you can understand that whether you buy the 256 or 512 version, you will get high-speed data reading and writing capacity. However, there is no memory card slot for external memory.

Battery and Charging
Oppo Reno 9 Pro comes with Li-Po 4500 mAh, a non-removable battery giving you extra longevity of your battery juice. You can charge the phone with the 67W wire fast charging feature that gives 1-35% change in just 10 min and 1-100% in 44 minutes. However, these features are not tested yet as the phone was not released while writing this article. These are taken from advertisements.
Price of Oppo Reno9 Pro 5G
The price for Reno 9 Pro 16GB + 256GB will be ¥3,499 or equivalent to BDT 52,143.81 (1 Yen = BDT 14.90). 16GB + 512GB version will cost ¥3,799 which is equivalent to BDT 56,614.56 (1 Yen = BDT 14.90). However, the official price in Bangladesh may vary depending on the tax and exchange rates.
Verdict
Oppo Reno 9 Pro 5G is great for gamers and business persons mainly as this can take much pressure while using multiple apps. In addition to that, the 16 GB RAM will help run the phone smoothly even if you use large applications or games. Last but not least, the ColorOS 13 will enhance efficiency.
