After a while, Senegal started to gain confidence with their 4-2-3-1 formation, deploying two players in the defensive midfield position in order to tackle England's forwards. They began to counter-attack and tried to find the back of the net. Senegal's best chance came in the 32nd minute when Boulaye Dia's shot was nicely saved by English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
