Midrange Smartphone
Motorola Edge 50 Pro Review: A Competent Mid-Range Smartphone
The Pro lineup from Motorola has been their flagship for quite a few years. Motorola released the Edge 40 Pro last year and the Edge 30 Pro the year before as premium top-of-the-line flagship devices. But this year, the Edge 50 Pro takes an in-between route between a mid-ranger and flagship with the Ultra taking the top spot. The Edge 50 Pro was launched on 8th April 2024 globally as a toned-down version of the Ultra. But as things stand, it might be a better deal than the Ultra for its price. Let’s find out why.
Key Specs of Motorola Edge 50 Pro
Design and Build Quality
Motorola seems to have shifted its priorities on the Edge lineup from being a performance-driven device to a more lifestyle and experience-oriented approach. The Pantone color collaboration, back materials, and AI integration all suggest a shift to a statement piece rather than a performance brick.
The dimensions of the Edge 50 Pro come in at 161.2 mm by 72.4 mm by 8.2 mm with 186 g weight. The aluminum frame adds rigidity to the curving design. However, the back glass has been replaced with eco-leather (polymer) on the 50 Pro.

Ports and buttons are all in their usual space with no external card slot or headphone jack. There are several color choices like Luxe Lavender, Black Beauty, Moonlight Pearl, and Vanilla Cream all thanks to the Pantone collaboration. The 50 Pro is also IP68 water and dust-resistant for worry-free use in any situation.
The Display
The display on the Edge 50 Pro is a 6.7-inch P-OLED panel with 1B colors, 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 2000 nits of peak brightness.
The resolution on the panel comes in at 1220 by 2712 pixels resolution with 446 ppi density. It’s an upgrade over the FHD+ resolution on the Edge 40 Pro.

The near-edge-to-edge curved panel boasts a 93.8% screen-to-body ratio. Additionally, the display is SGS Low Blue Light, SGS Low Motion Blur, Pantone color & Pantone Skintone certified.
In use, the colors look sharp and vivid with a natural feel. The viewing angles are excellent with great visibility outdoors. It’s a pretty well-rounded display that can easily be considered on par with the Ultra model.
The Camera
There’s a triple-sensor camera system on the Edge 50 Pro. The main sensor is a 50 MP, f/1.4, 25mm wide-angle shooter with PDAF and OIS. The other two sensors are a 10 MP, f/2.0, 67mm telephoto lens and a 13 MP, f/2.2, 120˚, 16mm ultrawide shooter. The front camera is a 50 MP, f/1.9, 21mm shooter.
Read more: Top Home Skincare Devices in Bangladesh: Transform Your Beauty Routine
The camera system can be considered a bit of a downgrade as the 40 Pro came with a 50 MP ultrawide sensor.
In terms of camera performance, the main sensor does an excellent job of capturing details and contrast. Again, the Pantone profile is fully on display here as the colors look vivid and natural. The super-wide aperture of the main sensor also allows for a natural bokeh on the subject background which blends in nicely with the image. The performance was more or less the same with the ultrawide, telephoto as well as the front camera.
The night photography is also on par with the daytime. The exposure, saturation, and white balance along with the dynamic range were very much flagship-worthy in terms of performance.

The videography on the 50 Pro goes up to 4K at 30fps, and 1080P at 30/60/120fps with 10-bit codec and HDR10+ support.
Processor and Performance
The processor on the 50 Pro is Qualcomm SM7550-AB Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 based on a 4 Nm architecture. It has a chip design of 1x2.63 GHz Cortex-A715 & 4x2.4 GHz Cortex-A715 & 3x1.8 GHz Cortex-A510 with Adreno 720 GPU.
The processor also takes a hit in terms of performance as last year’s Edge 40 Pro came with the flagship 8 Gen 2 processor. Another drawback is in the storage type as the 50 Pro features UFS 2.2 whereas the 40 Pro comes with UFS 4.0 technology.

Games like PUBG, COD, Genshin Impact, and Asphalt 9 ran without any hiccups. However, it doesn’t compare with the last generation's performance as it lacks a flagship processor. In its class, the 50 Pro outperforms the alternatives like the Samsung Galaxy A55.
Benchmark
Geekbench 6: 1143 (single core); 3083 (multi core)
Antutu 10: 842798
3D Mark Wildlife: 5399
In terms of benchmark scores, the Edge 50 Pro outperforms similar devices with the 7 Gen 3 processor. However, it grossly falls short of the 8 Gen series processors.

Software
The Edge 50 Pro is running on Android 14 with a custom Hello UI (An homage to the iconic Hello Moto! tagline). The UI itself looks more like an AOSP version with some minor in-house tweaks. There is some bloatware but they are neatly arranged on a dedicated shelf. The Moto app also has some useful features like Ready For to easily connect the device to the PC.
Motorola has also committed to 3 years of major software updates and 4 years of security patches.
Battery and Charge Time
The battery on the Edge 50 Pro is 4500 mAh. Motorola has included a 125 W wired TurboPower™charging system on the device. It can take the device to 100% in 18 minutes. There’s also 50 W wireless and 10 W reverse wireless charging available on the device.

Price of Motorola Edge 50 Pro
The Edge 50 Pro is available in two storage options, 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB. The official price of the variants is 31,999 INR and 35,999 INR respectively (with discounts). That roughly translates to around 45061 BDT and 50,694 BDT respectively (1 INR = 1.41 BDT).
Verdict
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is clearly a bridge between a proper mid-range smartphone and the flagship that the 50 Ultra is. The device impresses with its design, display, and camera, being almost on par with the flagship and a tad above any mid-range in its price range.
The processor and the small battery might slightly be a point of contention for some. The 50 Pro is best suited for those looking for a stylish smartphone that offers premium-level performance without really charging you a premium price for the same.

Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo Review: What’s special about it
China-based smartphone manufacturer Infinix was founded by Transsion Holdings in 2013. The company has been getting increasing popularity for producing affordable Smartphones. This year, Infinix has brought the Zero 5G 2023 Turbo. The mobile was released in India on February 11th and has already created a buzz. Everything you ever wanted to know about the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo phone is right here.
Key Features of Infinix Zero 5G 2023
Design
Infinix has spent a significant amount of money to build this attractive smartphone. The front has minimum bezels on three sides and a broader "chin."
The display has one of the tiniest cutouts on the market for the selfie camera. The display is large and flat. Over the display, there is a large, concealed horizontal line for the earphone, which is created so that you may listen to your caller without having to position a tiny earpiece to your ear. Nothing else exists in the front.

The rear panel is fantastic! The smartphone has an incredible orange leather-like finish. The logo reads "ZERO 5G Turbo" in a large typeface and all capital letters, and the contrast of materials has the effect of emphasizing this. While the front of the smartphone attracts fingerprints, the remainder of the device is totally fingerprint-resistant.
The camera buff is located in the upper left corner, with three lenses arranged in a rectangle and an LED flash to their right.
Display
The Zero 5G 2023 Turbo has a big 6.79-inch IPS LCD display with very minimal side and top bezels. As an AMOLED display was highly expected, folks were rather dissatisfied. However, the aforementioned panel is excellent for enhanced resolutions, and the image quality is rather crisp, which may help you forget the strong contrast of AMOLED.

Although the viewing angles are still rather good, there was no obvious screen dimming at angles approaching 90 degrees. The display is not very brilliant, and this is visible in direct sunlight. The 120 Hz refresh rate with a 240 Hz touch sampling rate makes the display very responsive, making it ideal for gaming.
The absence of Widevine L1 certification, which limits the video quality of most streaming services to 480p, is my primary concern. This is not an obvious deal-breaker, but if you prefer to view video on your smartphone, it may be a problem.
Camera
It has a 50MP main sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor on its triple back camera. The main shooter is able to capture clean, detailed images that are oversharpened in shadowed places.

Auto HDR activates efficiently and enables the sky's blues to flow into the frame while correcting for the sun's exposure. In well-lit conditions, the 2X telephoto lens performs well. However, it fails miserably at night. The shutter rates are fairly sluggish, resulting in a degree of camera wobble unless your hands are absolutely steady.
While in portrait mode, Infinix also enables you to alter the f-stop numbers for varied depths of focus. However, the backdrop separation is not very impressive.
There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front. While generally OK, the photographs can look a little over-processed. Both the back and front cameras allow 4K video recording at 30 frames per second, which is a great feature for the price.

Performance
The extensive personalization choices offered by the XOS (which is based on Android 12) include a wide variety of features such as themes, icons, and dark mode tones, which ensure that you will not get tired of using the phone.
Performance is where the Infinix Zero 5G Turbo really shines, with its Mediatek Dimensity 1080 CPU and its 8GB RAM, which can be expanded by an additional 5GB through virtual RAM. It has built-in 256 GB storage. You can play several pretty taxing games, including Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), in HDR ultra mode for many hours, and it is able to maintain a continuous 60 frames per second for an extended length of time.
In addition, you can also play Call of Duty (COD) Mobile on its highest settings, as well as Genshin Impact, which is a game with very high visuals, without any frame drops or heating problems while doing so.

Battery and Charging
The Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo has a hefty battery that measures 5,000 mAh despite its relatively thin shape. Even after moderate to heavy use of the phone, during activities such as playing games, watching videos, participating in voice and video calls, and other activities, the smartphone easily lasted for an average of 1.5 days. This was made possible by Diminsity 1080's effective optimization of battery life.
The 33W rapid charging capability is also fantastic, and it fills the smartphone's battery from empty to full in around ninety to one hundred minutes.
Price of Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo
The cost of the handheld device is listed as 19,999 INR which is equivalent to 25,360 TK. However, the official price of Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo in Bangladesh may vary due to tax and other issues.

Conclusion
Infinix nailed it with the fantastic affordability for the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo, while giving a fast chipset with good reaction during heavy-duty use. In addition, the very streamlined appearance and long battery life also contribute to the total value.
On the other hand, the software has room for growth, the speaker could use some work, the camera is, at most, mediocre, and the absence of Widevine L1 is unquestionably a drawback.

OPPO A77s Review: Is it worth buying?
Since 2004, the Chinese mobile company OPPO has been producing quality Smartphones. The OPPO phones are popular for their camera specs, beautification features, trendy design, and smart display. Oppo brings budget-friendly smartphones to entry-level mid-range devices under its ‘A’ series. In this legacy, OPPO A77s debuted on January 04, 2023. Does it offer a similar style and specs to the ancestor A76? Is OPPO’s latest A-series Smartphone 77s superior and worth the upgrade? Read on to discover!
Key Features of OPPO A77s
Design
The OPPO A77s is comparable to other smartphones in its category. Its matte, fingerprint-resistant surface will catch your attention. Additionally, it emits a subtle yellow and pink glow when tilted slightly. It may first seem a bit plain. However, it is clean and straightforward, and the neutral color makes it appropriate for men and women of various ages.
The OPPO A77s is available in Starry Black and Sunset Orange for those who want a more traditional hue or a lively appearance.

Regarding the rear, there is a square camera module with two cameras and an LED flash. Unlike many other smartphones, this device's camera bump is quite tiny. It is around the thickness of two credit cards, so you may forgo a phone case if you like.
Additionally, the gadget has flat sides and chamfered edges for a more pleasant grip. This design option further elevates the phone's feel, since it resembles pricey handsets such as the iPhone 14 and the Nothing Phone.
For buttons, OPPO opted for a right-side power button that serves as a fingerprint scanner. On the other side are the volume controls and the dual SIM tray.

The majority of the ports you would expect to see on a lower-middle-range phone are located at the bottom. A 3.5mm audio connection, a USB-C connector, and a mono speaker are included.
Display
The OPPO A77s has a screen size of 6.56 inches which is quite average for a smartphone released this year. However, its HD+ (1612 by 720 pixels) resolution may dissatisfy certain individuals, since it renders the visual quality rather pixelated. This is evident in particular from the user interface icons and movies.
Fortunately, it features a 90Hz refresh rate, which will provide fluid animations anytime the screen is interacted with. This screen can be configured to show at a constant rate of 90Hz, but it lacks a feature that automatically adjusts the refresh rate to save battery life. This implies that you must manually choose between 90 Hz and 60 Hz and keep to it.

The display is capable of producing acceptable colors for an LCD screen. With a maximum brightness of just 600 nits, the screen is difficult to view in direct sunlight. The bottom bezel on the front is also fairly thick, however, this is something that most people can overlook.
Camera
The primary camera on the OPPO A77s is 50 megapixels, and it has a depth sensor that's just 2 megapixels. This is about what you can expect from a phone in this price range. This combination may not seem like much when compared to other smartphones of the same price range, but it is sufficient for the vast majority of users.
Another benefit is that it helps to keep everything tidy and compact, which is why the camera bump is just a few millimeters thick. On the other hand, since it does not have an ultra-wide lens, any still images or films that you take will only be in the 4:3 aspect ratio.

This phone can shoot stunning shots in strong light. However, colors may look somewhat oversaturated in comparison to the original. Night Mode images are adequate but may include some noise.
As for the front, a camera is situated in a teardrop-shaped notch towards the top center. This 8MP camera is unremarkable but should suffice for social networking purposes. Notably, the update includes Bokeh Flare Portrait, a feature that was previously exclusive to OPPO Reno smartphones. This function enables you to capture portraits with blur and light effects.
Performance and Software
As for the hardware, OPPO continues to employ the same Snapdragon 680 chipset used in the previous OPPO A76. This chipset is now one year old, having been released in October 2021. However, while being a touch behind, the performance is enough for regular usage.

Some may think 128GB of storage on the OPPO A77s is insufficient. However, it also has a microSD card slot, allowing you to extend the capacity if you often capture photographs and movies or play mobile games.
The RAM has a capacity of 8GB and can be virtually expanded by 2GB, 3GB, or 5 GB. 13GB should be plenty to maintain the phone's best performance if you often launch numerous applications concurrently.
Battery
A charge time with SUPERVOOC 33W takes around an hour from a completely depleted battery. This is pretty quick for a basic smartphone. Thankfully, you do not have to wait very long, particularly if you are only being charged 10%.

Official Price of OPPO A77s in Bangladesh
The Oppo A77s is available in Bangladesh officially. The phone costs BDT 24,990 for its 8GB by 128GB version.
Wrapping Up
The OPPO A77s is a smart investment given its price-to-performance ratio. However, its basic appearance may seem dull to others, particularly with the availability of more attractive phones at a comparable price.
If you want a flashier phone, other than OPPO A77s, you can check out the Samsung Galaxy A13. Among other alternatives, there are the realme 9 for its ultra-wide camera and the HONOR X9 for rapid charging. In truth, the earlier OPPO A76 is a possible alternative to the A77s, since it is almost identical but has less RAM.

Tecno Phantom X2 Pro Review: Midrange Smartphone with Retractable Camera
When discussing the affordable smartphone market, Tecno is a well-known brand. However, the business now intends to develop further and become more competitive in the area of mid-range luxury smartphones. At an event in Dubai, Tecno debuted its next flagship smartphone, the Phantom X2 Pro, with the same idea in mind. Let’s take a look at the key features, specs, pros, and cons of the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro.
Key Features of Tecno Phantom X2 Pro
Design
The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro is without a doubt one of the most attractive Tecno smartphones. The corporation has spent much on its design, giving it an upscale and sophisticated appearance. The elegant Tenco Phantom X2 Pro has a display and back panel with curved edges.
The front panel is dominated by an FHD+ display, while the back panel is comprised of renewable material, distinguishing it from other luxury smartphones.
The back surface provides a unique tactile sensation and makes the smartphone pleasant to grasp. Additionally, the unusual substance of the rear panel makes it resistant to fingerprints.

On the right side of the mobile device are the volume controls and the power button. The button section contains the charging port and stereo speakers, while the SIM card tray is located on the device's upper surface. Overall, the smartphone performs well in the design category and will be well-liked for that reason.
Display
The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro has a 6.8-inch FHD+ curved display with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels. On top of the display is a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Vitus for protection. The display's 120Hz refresh rate allowed for a fluid scrolling experience while using the smartphone. The screen is surrounded by tiny bezels on all sides, allowing for a much bigger display area.
In addition, the display provides broad viewing angles, allowing you to enjoy gaming and binge-watching sessions. We were unable to test the company's claim that the smartphone delivers decent sight in direct sunlight. Aside from this, the display is clean and clear, and the color reproduction is correct.

Hardware and Software
The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro is driven by an octa-core MediaTek Dimesnity 9000 processor with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In addition, the smartphone supports 5GB of virtual RAM. Throughout our first testing, the smartphone operated well. On the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro, gaming and multitasking were likewise seamless.
In addition to a strong chipset, the Tecno Phantom X2 has a rather big battery. The company's flagship smartphone has a 5,160 mAh battery with 45W rapid charging capabilities. The manufacturer says that the smartphone can be charged to 50 percent in only 20 minutes. However, we have yet to verify this allegation. The dual-SIM smartphone has an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual speakers for enhanced audio output.
Regarding software, the Phantom X2 Pro runs the Android 12 operating system on top of the company's HiOS 12 layer. The smartphone has a streamlined user interface, however, there are several bloatware programs, some of which cannot be removed.
Also, there is no app drawer, thus all downloaded applications would seem crowded on the home screen. The smartphone is equipped with all the native Android 12 capabilities, which will be covered in the in-depth review when the smartphone launches in India.

Cameras
The Tecno Phantom X2 is the first smartphone released by the business to come with a detachable triple camera configuration on the back of the device. The back camera has a primary lens with a resolution of 50 megapixels, a portrait lens with a resolution of 50 megapixels that can be retracted, and a wide-angle lens with 13 megapixels.
The retractable camera only operates in portrait mode, as the name indicates, and it makes every effort to take a picture of the subject that is as good as it can possibly be.
You also get a front-facing camera with 32 megapixels for taking selfies. During the testing that we did, the camera functioned without any issues. The photographs that were taken inside came out quite well, displaying appropriate degrees of color reproduction and a high level of detail.

Battery and Charger
Moving on to the battery, the Phantom X2 Pro is equipped with a sizable 5160mAh battery that is enough to power the device for the whole day without any problems. You shouldn't have any trouble getting through the day with the phone, even with the amount of usage you put into it.
