OPPO A77s Review: Is it worth buying?
Since 2004, the Chinese mobile company OPPO has been producing quality Smartphones. The OPPO phones are popular for their camera specs, beautification features, trendy design, and smart display. Oppo brings budget-friendly smartphones to entry-level mid-range devices under its ‘A’ series. In this legacy, OPPO A77s debuted on January 04, 2023. Does it offer a similar style and specs to the ancestor A76? Is OPPO’s latest A-series Smartphone 77s superior and worth the upgrade? Read on to discover!
Key Features of OPPO A77s
Design
The OPPO A77s is comparable to other smartphones in its category. Its matte, fingerprint-resistant surface will catch your attention. Additionally, it emits a subtle yellow and pink glow when tilted slightly. It may first seem a bit plain. However, it is clean and straightforward, and the neutral color makes it appropriate for men and women of various ages.
The OPPO A77s is available in Starry Black and Sunset Orange for those who want a more traditional hue or a lively appearance.

Regarding the rear, there is a square camera module with two cameras and an LED flash. Unlike many other smartphones, this device's camera bump is quite tiny. It is around the thickness of two credit cards, so you may forgo a phone case if you like.
Additionally, the gadget has flat sides and chamfered edges for a more pleasant grip. This design option further elevates the phone's feel, since it resembles pricey handsets such as the iPhone 14 and the Nothing Phone.
For buttons, OPPO opted for a right-side power button that serves as a fingerprint scanner. On the other side are the volume controls and the dual SIM tray.

The majority of the ports you would expect to see on a lower-middle-range phone are located at the bottom. A 3.5mm audio connection, a USB-C connector, and a mono speaker are included.
Display
The OPPO A77s has a screen size of 6.56 inches which is quite average for a smartphone released this year. However, its HD+ (1612 by 720 pixels) resolution may dissatisfy certain individuals, since it renders the visual quality rather pixelated. This is evident in particular from the user interface icons and movies.
Fortunately, it features a 90Hz refresh rate, which will provide fluid animations anytime the screen is interacted with. This screen can be configured to show at a constant rate of 90Hz, but it lacks a feature that automatically adjusts the refresh rate to save battery life. This implies that you must manually choose between 90 Hz and 60 Hz and keep to it.

The display is capable of producing acceptable colors for an LCD screen. With a maximum brightness of just 600 nits, the screen is difficult to view in direct sunlight. The bottom bezel on the front is also fairly thick, however, this is something that most people can overlook.
Camera
The primary camera on the OPPO A77s is 50 megapixels, and it has a depth sensor that's just 2 megapixels. This is about what you can expect from a phone in this price range. This combination may not seem like much when compared to other smartphones of the same price range, but it is sufficient for the vast majority of users.
Another benefit is that it helps to keep everything tidy and compact, which is why the camera bump is just a few millimeters thick. On the other hand, since it does not have an ultra-wide lens, any still images or films that you take will only be in the 4:3 aspect ratio.

This phone can shoot stunning shots in strong light. However, colors may look somewhat oversaturated in comparison to the original. Night Mode images are adequate but may include some noise.
As for the front, a camera is situated in a teardrop-shaped notch towards the top center. This 8MP camera is unremarkable but should suffice for social networking purposes. Notably, the update includes Bokeh Flare Portrait, a feature that was previously exclusive to OPPO Reno smartphones. This function enables you to capture portraits with blur and light effects.
Performance and Software
As for the hardware, OPPO continues to employ the same Snapdragon 680 chipset used in the previous OPPO A76. This chipset is now one year old, having been released in October 2021. However, while being a touch behind, the performance is enough for regular usage.

Some may think 128GB of storage on the OPPO A77s is insufficient. However, it also has a microSD card slot, allowing you to extend the capacity if you often capture photographs and movies or play mobile games.
The RAM has a capacity of 8GB and can be virtually expanded by 2GB, 3GB, or 5 GB. 13GB should be plenty to maintain the phone's best performance if you often launch numerous applications concurrently.
Battery
A charge time with SUPERVOOC 33W takes around an hour from a completely depleted battery. This is pretty quick for a basic smartphone. Thankfully, you do not have to wait very long, particularly if you are only being charged 10%.

Official Price of OPPO A77s in Bangladesh
The Oppo A77s is available in Bangladesh officially. The phone costs BDT 24,990 for its 8GB by 128GB version.
Wrapping Up
The OPPO A77s is a smart investment given its price-to-performance ratio. However, its basic appearance may seem dull to others, particularly with the availability of more attractive phones at a comparable price.
If you want a flashier phone, other than OPPO A77s, you can check out the Samsung Galaxy A13. Among other alternatives, there are the realme 9 for its ultra-wide camera and the HONOR X9 for rapid charging. In truth, the earlier OPPO A76 is a possible alternative to the A77s, since it is almost identical but has less RAM.
