A 32-year-old woman along with her two children allegedly attempted suicide by swallowing poison over family feud at Bhawakhali in Narail district town on Wednesday. The woman identified as Sheuli Begum, wife of Mithu Sheikh and their two children—Rabbi, 7 and Ilma, 4--- are undergoing treatment at Narail Sadar Hospital. Quoting local people, Mahmudur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Mithu recently married another woman and stopped providing money to Sheuli for family expenses. On Wednesday, Mithu beat up Sheuli mercilessly following an altercation over the issue. When they fell sick, local people took them to Sadar hospital. Mithu along with his second wife went into hiding.
