Novoair 38th National Judo Competition begins
A two-day long 38th National Judo Competition has started under the sponsorship of Bangladesh's leading private airline Novoair.
Mofizur Rahman, managing director of Novoair, inaugurated the competition at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka on Friday, said a press release.
Bangladesh Judo Federation President and former member of parliament Fayzur Rahman presided over the opening ceremony while Kamrun Nahar Hiru, general secretary of the federation and senior officials of Novoair were also present at the event.
Mofizur Rahman said “Sports play an important role in building a prosperous nation. Novoair has been sponsoring various sports from its social responsibility."
"We are working to popularise Judo in the country and aiming to achieve success at the international level by organising regular practices and competitions," said Fayzur Rahman, president of Bangladesh Judo Federation.

At the event, thirty-one teams from different districts of the country are participating in the competition.
The competition will be held in 7 weight categories in the men's category and 7 in the women's category, added the release.
