BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday described the Election Commission (EC) as ‘biased and useless’ body as it has failed to take any action against those attacked the electioneering of their party’s mayoral candidates of the two city corporations in Dhaka.

Voicing doubt over a fair election, BNP’s Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral candidate Tabith Awal on Monday alleged that the Election Commission has so far failed to take any visible step to assure voters that there will be a credible voting.

Supporters of BNP’s Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral candidate Tabith Awal came under attack during electioneering reportedly by ruling party activists in the city’s Mirpur area on Sunday.
