Through their performance on the field, the Bangladesh team wanted to prove their skill by adopting aggressive cricket. And apparently, the cricketers played some quality games while embracing several records.
Analysis of Bangladesh vs Ireland T20I Series 2023
The hosts, Bangladesh, started the three-match T20 series with a win against Ireland thanks to opener Rony Talukder's batting and pacer Taskin Ahmed's bowling. In the first T20I of the series, Bangladesh beat Ireland by 22 runs under Duckworth–Lewis method. Rony scored 67 runs off 38 balls. Taskin bowled a career-best with 4 wickets for 16 runs. Ireland got 104 runs target in 8 overs due to rain.
The two Irish openers, captain Paul Stirling and Ross Adair, scored 32 runs off 16 balls at a stormy pace with the bat. Pacer Hasan Mahmud broke the pair by bowling Adair for 13 runs. Later Bangladesh won by 77 runs in the second T20 of the series against Ireland. Through this, the Tigers confirmed the series win. Liton's career-best batting and Shakib's brilliant bowling helped Bangladesh win the series with one match in hand. Ireland won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat first. The two openers, Litton Das and Rony Talukder, started playing aggressively, and they scored a fifty in just 3.3 overs, the fastest team fifty in Bangladesh's history.
Other batters also played an extraordinary game. The Tigers collected 202 runs for 3 wickets in the scheduled 17 overs in the rain-affected match. Ireland lost captain Paul Stirling on the first ball of the innings. He returned with a catch behind the wicket in Taskin’s ball. Then Shakib's attack began. Shakib hunted Lorcan Tucker (6) on his first ball of the match and took four more wickets. Ireland lost 6 wickets for just 43 runs. But in the end, the margin was narrowed by Curtis Campher’s 50 off 30 balls and contributions from Harry Tector’s 22 runs and Graham Hume’s 20 runs.
Bangladesh started the third match with an aim to whitewash Ireland, and the game didn’t go well in favor of the tigers. Ireland tasted victory for the first time after coming to Bangladesh after losing five matches in a row. They could not be stopped in the last match and defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets. As a result, Bangladesh could not whitewash the Irish, and Shakib’s team had to leave the field with the achievement of winning the series.

However, it was the bowlers who started the foundation for the victory in Friday's match, stopping the Tigers to just 124 runs. Then Irish passed the small target easily. Bangladesh lost seven wickets for 61 runs before the end of half of the innings. Only Shamim Hossain scored a fifty. Rony Talukder scored 14, Towhid Hridoy scored 12, and 13 runs came from Nasum Ahmed’s bat. Mark Adair took three for 25, and Matthew Humphreys took two for 10.

Third Highest Runs in T20
Bangladesh's 202 runs are the fourth highest in T20 cricket. Earlier in 2018, Bangladesh scored 215 runs against Sri Lanka in the Nidahas Trophy, which is the highest. Final Words
Bangladesh won matches one after another against the Irish in fast-paced cricket. While the Tigers beat Ireland by setting continuous records in the ODI series, they also kept the incredible performance in the T20 series. However, Bangladesh could not whitewash Ireland. Still, the 2023 BAN vs IRE T20I series win at 2-1 is satisfying too.

BAN vs IRE 2nd T20I 2023: Match Preview
Ireland could not fight well in the ODI series. And it is assumed that we will also see the same outcome in the T20 series. Bangladesh may whitewash the Irish by playing organized cricket. The first match’s result also indicates the same.
The Irish were defeated by 22 runs in the first T20 of the series on Monday by the DLS method. After losing the toss and batting first, Bangladesh scored 207 runs for 5 wickets in 19.2 overs. Then the game was stopped due to rain. After more than two hours, Ireland got a changed target of 104 runs in 8 overs. But they lost 5 wickets and could not score more than 81 runs.

Shakib scored 20 runs off 13 balls with 3 fours.
On the other hand, Ireland’s equation was simplified with the Duckworth-Lewis method. The Irish started aggressively chasing runs.

The Bangladeshi pacers proved too strong for Ireland, with Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud delivering excellent bowling. Taskin's career-best performance helped Bangladesh secure an impressive victory in a rain-affected match. Taskin Ahmed took 4 wickets with only 16 runs with the ball, which is his career’s best bowling in T20. His previous record was 4 wickets for 25 runs. Hasan Mahmud took the remaining wicket.
However, Ireland got a good batting condition due to rain, but they failed. Hopefully, they will try to come back to the series in the second match. Bangladesh, on the other hand, should be in a cheerful mood as they are one victory away from winning the series.
Pitch Report and Weather
The pitch in Chittagong for the first game of the series was an outstanding one, and it is expected to stay the same for the second match on Wednesday. Batsmen should have no trouble getting the ball off the square. According to the weather forecast, it looks like a pleasant day for the players and fans, with no chance of rain and temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels are expected to be in the 60s.

Paul Stirling will lead the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh starting. Lorcan Tucker will serve as a vice caption. Leadership is nothing new for Sterling. After becoming vice-captain in 2019, he has captained six T20Is for Ireland so far.

Key Players to Watch in BAN vs IRE 2nd T20I
Bangladeshi Players to Watch
Rony Talukdar will be on the watch list due to his incredible innings. He got his first fifty in his international career in the first T20 match of the series against Ireland at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Monday. Rony returned to the dressing room with explosive innings of 67 runs off 38 balls. His aggressive batting style helped Bangladesh score 81 runs without a wicket in 6 overs, which is the Bangladesh team's powerplay record.
In the bowling section, Taskin Ahmed has been very consistent, and his pace action certainly helped Bangladesh to stop Ireland. Coming in the fourth over of the innings, this pacer took 3 wickets and put Bangladesh in a strong position in the match. Taskin bowled two batters, including skipper Starling and one got caught out. So, the Irish will surely play Taskin’s ball carefully in the next game.
Irish Players to Watch
The Irish got off to a great start in the first match, and Paul Stirling started it. Stirling face the first ball of the innings and hit Nasum Ahmed down the ground a four. Again, he swept two more fours in this over. He scored 17 runs from 8 balls. This aggressive batter can be a headache for Bangladesh.

Craig Young was the only blower to take 2 wickets in the first match. So, he might put more effort into the second match. Overall, he has 57 T20 wickets in 54 matches.
Final Words
The Irish are far behind Bangladesh in terms of strength. That gap is expected to increase further at Chittagong in the second BAN vs IRE T20I. However, this Bangladesh had no plan of winning by making a spin stage in Mirpur, as the series is being played at Chittagong's batting support wicket. And we have seen 200+ scores in the last match. So, if Bangladesh bats first in the next match, we may see another big score.

Preview of BAN vs IRE 1st T20I 2023
Bangladesh are going to play three three-match T20I series against Ireland in Chittagong starting on March 27. The other two matches will be on March 29 and 31. Bangladesh and Ireland already reached Chittagong on Friday afternoon. Bangladesh will be looking to continue their dominant run in the format, while Ireland will be eager to come back from their recent ODI loss. The 2023 BAN vs IRE 1st T20I game will start at 2 PM.
Preview of Bangladesh vs Ireland First T20I 2023
Hosts Bangladesh played brilliantly in the ODI series against Ireland in Sylhet. The Irish could not give their best in the 3-match ODI series. The visitors, however, survived a sure whitewash as the second ODI was abandoned with the blessings of rain. In the remaining two matches, Bangladesh won with a record. And through this, the differences in strength and ability between the two teams have become clear. Now, it is expected that Bangladesh will beat them in T20 too.
In the ICC T20 world ranking, Bangladesh is 9th, and Ireland is 12th. However, there have been very few encounters between the two teams in the T20 format. The last T20 fight between each other was in 2012. In other words, in the last 11 years, the two teams have not met in the T20 format.

However, in the 2016 T20 World Cup, Bangladesh-Ireland met in the preliminary round at Dharamsala. But in that match, after Bangladesh scored 94 runs for 2 wickets in 8 overs, the match was abandoned due to rain. This statistic is for the global event or a tournament. And in the bilateral series, the last meeting between the two teams was in 2012. Bangladesh toured Ireland that year and returned home after whitewashing them 3-0.
In total, only 1 of the 5 T20 matches between the two teams has been abandoned, and Bangladesh has won 3 and lost 1. In the 2009 T20 World Cup, the Irish defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in Nottingham. After that, Bangladesh won 3 consecutive matches. Considering the statistics, the Tigers are clearly ahead.
The Ireland team played the 2014 T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. However, they played the preliminary round at Sylhet and departed. Therefore, Bangladesh-Ireland has not met on the country ground so far. After 11 years, they are going to meet again in a bilateral series. Bangladesh is certainly the favorite in this series, as they have beaten the Irish in Sylhet in the ODI series.

Ireland will enter the T20 series with the same squad. The Irish have not played an international match in any format before in Chittagong. So, they will have a completely new experience this time. Earlier this month, the Tigers defeated the world champions England in the previous series at this venue. They lost to Bangladesh at this ground in the third and last ODI of the series after leading by 2-0. Later they lost in the first T20 match in Chittagong as well.
So, it will be a tough challenge for the Irish to do well against Bangladesh in Chittagong. However, Ireland is a very strong team in the T20 format. In the last World Cup, they defeated England by 5 runs. Won against West Indies as well. So, Bangladesh will need to play cautiously.

Final Words
While Bangladesh is determined to win the T20 series, too, Ireland will surely try to come back. However, T20s are more unpredictable than the one-day match. So, guessing the winner is difficult for T20 matches. On top of that, Ireland is better at playing T20 than the ODIs. Hence, we can expect a great fight in BAN vs IRE 1st T20I 2023.

Analysis of Bangladesh T20 Squad Against Ireland
After winning the ODI series against Ireland, Bangladesh is now hoping to repeat its performance against Ireland. Bangladesh will play three-match T20 series against Ireland on March 27, 29, and 31. All these matches will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Previously Bangladesh whitewashed the World Champion England in a T20 series ten days ago. And the team has enough confidence to whitewash Ireland too. Let's take a look at the Bangladesh T20 Squad against Ireland in the upcoming 2023 BAN vs IRE T20 Series.
Bangladesh T20 Squad Against Ireland
Shakib Al Hasan (capt), Litton Das (wk), Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Jaker Ali.
Changes in Bangladesh Team for BAN vs IRE T20 Series 2023
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a team of fourteen members to compete in the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland, starting on March 27th. Two new players, Rishad Hossain, and Jaker Ali Anik, have been included in the Bangladesh squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland.
Leg spinner Rishad has been a part of the senior setup for a few years now but has yet to be given a proper chance - even in the domestic tournaments. The last time he played in a domestic tournament was two years ago in the Dhaka Premier League T20s.
Read More: Bangladesh vs Ireland: Tigers earn first 10-wicket ODI win to seal series
Unfortunately, Rishad has only bowled 5.1 overs in the current first-class competition. This makes his inclusion in the team the most interesting call. Chandika Hathurusingha, the head coach, likely wanted to observe his performance at the international level. The such experiment is not new for Hathurusingha. During his first period as the coach for the Bangladesh team in 2014, he chose leg spinner Jubair Hossain too.
On the other hand, Jaker has been a standout performer in the Bangladesh Cricket League, notching up three consecutive centuries and finishing as the tournament's highest run-scorer with 492 runs in six innings. He was also a key contributor to Comilla Victorians' BPL championship victory this season.
However, the regular T20 players Afif Hossain and Nurul Hasan were left out of the squad. Afif, along with Shoriful Islam, was also excluded from the ODI squad for the last game. The exclusion of Afif is a major disappointment for the young, energetic batter. His 61 consecutive appearances in T20I had come to a halt when he was excluded from the third T20I match against England. Until recently, Afif was guaranteed to be chosen for both the white-ball formats, but he currently finds himself on the sidelines.
But Shoriful was released from the ODI roster to participate in the Dhaka Premier League but is included in the T20 team against Ireland. Additionally, Tanvir Islam and Rezaur Rahman, who were in the squad that played against England, were not included against Ireland.

Bangladesh Squad Analysis
Apart from the changes mentioned above, the squad remains similar to the squad that whitewashed Bangladesh. So, it can be assumed that Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Shakib Al Hasan will be Bangladesh’s trump card as they have shown their class against England.
Najmul Hossain Shanto
Najmul Hossain Shanto's stellar performance in Bangladesh vs England T20 series was remarkable, amassing a total of 144 runs and an impact of 153.2 over three matches. He displayed his remarkable proficiency at the highest level of cricket, with an average impact per match of 51, ultimately leading to Bangladesh's victory.
His BPL experience was evident, as he put in an exceptional effort across all three matches, making an invaluable contribution to the team's success. In addition to that, he scored 98 runs in the ongoing ODI series against the Irish.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Miraz is also in good form. Mehidy Hasan Miraz put on an impressive show during Bangladesh's T20 series against England, offering a well-rounded performance in both batting and bowling. Across two matches, his total impact was a formidable 104.4, averaging out to an impressive 52.2 per match.

His most noteworthy performance came in the second T20, where he took four crucial wickets for just 12 runs, helping his team to secure a victory. Demonstrating his versatility, Miraz made a valuable contribution through both bowling and batting, earning him praise for his efforts.
Shakib Al Hasan
And finally, the captain Shakib Al Hasan is the man behind the whitewash against England. His game plan and tactics are noteworthy for Bangladesh. Often, analysts speak of Shakib Al Hasan's acuity in cricket, and he displayed both good judgment and composure in Bangladesh vs England series. He demonstrated amazing skill when it came to managing his bowlers. So, it is expected that we will see his brilliant captaincy against the Irish too.
Under Hathurusingha, it seems the Bangladesh team has got a boost. And the coach’s strategy appears to outrank the team’s weakness.
Final Words
Bangladesh has taken one year plan to develop the T20 team targeting the World Cup in 2024. That’s why the management and the coach want to look at new cricketers to move forward with the plan. Apart from that, the dropped cricketers will also be under their watch. So, this Bangladesh’s T20 squad against Ireland will bring some new experience for the management.

BAN vs IRE 1st ODI 2023: Match Preview
The Bangladesh national cricket team will play another full series starting on March 18 with the first ODI. Bangladesh is going to play three ODIs against Ireland after blowing away England in T20. However, this will be Ireland’s first full series. All three ODIs will be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, and the first ODI will start at 2 PM on March 18, 2023.
Preview of Bangladesh vs Ireland 1st ODI 2023
Ireland already played a practice match against the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI, and they understood the pitch condition in Sylhet. Ireland got a notable victory, with a moderate total, in their preparation match. In the Sylhet pre-match, the Irish defeated the BCB XI by 74 runs.
After the morning rain, the ground at Sylhet International Stadium was soaked, causing the game to start late. Consequently, the match was shortened to 40 overs. The visiting team managed to score 255 runs after losing 7 wickets in their allotted overs. Curtis Campher's remarkable 75 runs off 50 balls was the top performance. Opener Paul Stirling scored 54 runs. While Ireland scored 53 runs in the opening pair, they lost one wicket by 100 runs. Gareth Delany put in a noteworthy performance, scoring 36 runs off 24 balls and bringing the total to 250. Rejaur Rahman Raja and Rishad Hossain each took two wickets, while Soumya Sarkar managed to take a wicket.
Read More: Tamim, Mehidy uncertain for 1st ODI against Ireland
Among all batters, Soumya, the left-handed opener, put up a courageous effort with the bat, resulting in 37 runs. Despite this, the BCB XI was unable to withstand the pressure of the full 32.1 overs, as they were bowled out for 181 runs. This win will surely boost confidence in Ireland.
On the other hand, despite losing the ODI series to England, Bangladesh has still had a great record at home. Other than England, they have not been defeated in a series over the last seven years. The first ODI against England was very close to being a win for Bangladesh, and to keep from being whitewashed, Tamim’s team got a victory in the last match. Although Bangladesh lost the 50-over cricket series, they were outstanding in T20. Shakib Al Hasan’s team completely defeated England by demonstrating their strength with both bat and ball. After this performance, Bangladesh will now play against Ireland. And Ireland seems to take up the challenge and attempt to win a few matches against Bangladesh.
Additionally, Bangladesh’s main weapon, the spinners, is in top form. Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz's spin bowling at home is a terror for any opponent. Bangladeshi spinners have previously shown their class to top-ranked batters. Against Ireland, it should be no exception.

Team News
Reports from Cricbuzz indicate that wicketkeeper-batsman Zakir Hasan suffered an injury to his left thumb while practicing at the Sylhet International Stadium on Thursday afternoon. As a result, he was dropped from the ODI series against the Irish. Zakir was called up for the first ODI. However, it is speculated that it will take a minimum of three weeks for him to make a full recovery. Apart from Zakir, all other Bangladeshi players are fit and can play the first ODI.
Rony Talukdar will play in Zakir’s place. BCB confirmed Zakir's injury and Rony's inclusion in a press release on Thursday. Opener Rony returned to the Bangladesh team after almost eight years with the last T20 series against England. He played in all three games during the spectacular whitewashed series of the world champions. He notched up 21, 9, and 24 runs, respectively, in three T20s. Though he failed to make a huge impact, Rony did demonstrate the necessary ambition for this tournament. Mahmudullah was not included in the first two matches of the ODI series, while Yasir Ali, Nasum Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam have all rejoined the national squad.

On the other hand, the Ireland cricket team is in good condition with no major injuries or absences and is predicted to field its most formidable lineup since the beginning of the first ODI.
