Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods, arms, ammunition and drugs worth Tk 121.58 crore across the country in September. The seized drugs include 8,31,594 Yaba pills, 3.141 Kg crystal meth, 19,797 bottles of phensidyl, 15,202 bottles of foreign liquor, 795 liters of local liquor, 2,680 cans of beer, 2,206 kg cannabis, 2.16 kg heroin, 21,098 injections, 6,620 Eskuf syrups, 755 bottles of MkDil/Cofidil, 2,85,267 Anegra/Senegra tablets, 9,61,524 different types of medicines and 97,350 tablets, said a BGB media release on Sunday. Other smuggled items include 31.851 kg gold, 8.400 kg silver, 1,83,470 cosmetics, 1,063 imitation jewelries, 19,956 sarees, 2,930 three-piece/shirt-piece/bed-sheet/blankets, 2,105 readymade garments, 2,347 cft timber, 4,502 kg of tea leaves, 40,850 kg of coal, 5 touch stone made statues, 491 kg of pesticides, 56 motorcycles, 5 private cars/microbuses, 10 pickup vans, 24 CNG/battery autorickshaws. The drugs seized by BGB included 11,00,262 Yaba pills, 12.4 Kgs of Crystal Meth (Ice), 3.1 kgs of heroin, 2,538 kgs of hemp, 31,174 bottles of Phensedyl, 14,633 bottles of foreign liquor, 344 liters of local liquor, 4,721 cans of beer, 4,16,301 packets of cigarettes, 536 kgs of tobacco leaves, 19,272 injections, 6,714 bottles of Eascof syrup, 1,000 bottles of Macdil Syrup, 16,695 Sanagra tablets and 5,08,214 other tablets, said a press release. BGB also seized 24 weapons, five magazines, 28 rounds of bullets, 1 portal shell, 1 rifle barrel and 31 empty bullet shells. Besides, legal action has been taken against 260 smugglers, 362 Bangladeshi citizens and 23 Indian citizens for crossing the border illegally during this period, said Md Shariful Islam, public relations officer of BGB headquarters.

Sources at the BGB headquarters said the seized drugs include 15,93,205 Yaba pills, 3.192 kg crystal meth also known as ice, 7.150 kg heroin (brown sugar), 4 kg opium, 22,854 bottles of Phensidyl, 10,386 bottles of foreign liquor, 4,608 cans of beer, 2,571 kgs of hemp, 50,102 stimulant injections,  25,605 Anegra and Senegra tablets, 5,044 Eascof syrup, two bottles of LSD and 86,163 other tablets during the period between April 1 and April 31. The seized arms included two pistols, four guns, 21 rounds of bullets and 3.4 kg gun powder. Besides, legal action has been taken against 251 smugglers, 145 Bangladeshi nationals and nine Indians for illegally crossing the border during the period, said Public Relations Officer of the BGB headquarters Md Shariful Islam.

Sources at the BGB headquarters said the seized drugs include 13,41,023 Yaba pills, 5.044 kg crystal meth also known as ice, 3.513 kg heroin (brown sugar), 1.275 kg opium, 38,637 bottles of Phensidyl, 17492 bottles of foreign liquor, 2595 cans of beer, 2744 kgs of hemp, 53,322 stimulant injections,  21,505 pieces of Anegra and Senegra tablets, 4,591 Eascof syrup and 3,74,568 other tablets during the period between March 1 and March 31. The seized arms included one pistol, two guns, 16 rounds of bullets and one magazine. Besides, legal action has been taken against 374 smugglers and six Indians for illegally crossing the border during the period, said Public Relations Officer of the BGB headquarters Md Shariful Islam.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods, arms and drugs worth around Tk1,073.44 crore in various drives across the country last year.   The seized narcotics included 22,440,009 Yaba pills, 331,785 bottles of phensedyl, 213,989 bottles of foreign liquor, 131,899 cans of beer, 19,492kg cannabis, 139kg heroin, 7,169 bottles of Cofidil and 237,506 Senegra tablets. Around 50.433kg gold, 321kg silver, nine touchstone statues, 1,295,542 pieces of cosmetics, 55,947 sarees, 9,627 readymade garments, 53,757kg tea leaves, 165,405kg coal, 85 trucks, 60 private cars/microbuses, 80 pickup trucks, 368 CNG/battery run auto-rickshaws and 1,103 motorcycles were also seized. The arms and ammunition seized included 44 pistols, 67 different types of guns, four revolvers, 35 magazines, 32 mortar shells and 250 rounds of bullets. Legal actions were taken against 3,599 people for their involvement in smuggling. Some 2,244 Bangladeshis and 86 Indian citizens were arrested for crossing the border illegally, BGB said.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods, arms, ammunition and drugs worth Tk 87,96,86,000 during drives conducted in bordering and other areas in November. Seized narcotics and alcoholic beverages include 3.23kg of crystal methamphetamine, 13 lakh pieces of Yaba tablets, 24,550 bottles of phensedyl, foreign liquor, beer and weed, the BGB said in a statement Friday. BGB also seized 11 different types of guns and four Chinese axes. During the drives, BGB arrested 299 people for smuggling, and 126 Bangladeshis and nine Indians for illegally crossing the border. Around 6.78 kg gold, 53.60 kg silver, cosmetics s, 4,842 sarees, 112 readymade garments, 3,378 Cubic feet of wood, 10,826 kg of tea leaves, 26,050 kg of coal, 5 trucks/covered vans, 10 private cars/ microbuses, 8 pickups, 60 CNG/battery run autorickshaws and 70 motorcycles were among the smuggled goods. Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 224 alleged smugglers in connection with seizing smuggled goods, including drugs and firearms worth Tk 48.14 crore from across the country last month.
