Girls again outshine boys in SSC results
Female students outperformed their male counterparts in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations across the country, recording higher pass rates and highest grade (GPA 5).
Of the 911,791 female candidates who sat the examinations, 607,939 passed, making a pass rate of 66.68 percent.
Among the 9,17,694 male candidates, 5,30,938 passed, putting their pass rate at 57.86 percent.
The pass rate for girls was therefore 8.82 percentage points higher than that for boys.
Girls also outnumbered boys among GPA-5 achievers.
A total of 63,896 female students secured GPA-5, compared with 52,780 male students—a difference of 11,116.
Overall, 1,138,877 students passed the SSC and equivalent examinations this year. Among them, 6,07,939 are female students and 5,30,938 are male students.

SSC, equivalent exam results 2024: Girls outperform boys
Girls have outperformed boys in this year's SSC and equivalent exams, similar to that last year.
A total of 20,13,597 students -- 10,24,803 female and 9,88,794 male -- appeared for this year's exams.
Among them, the pass rate for female students is 84.47 percent. Meanwhile, 81.57 percent of male candidates have passed the exams.

Girls outperformed boys in terms of GPA-5 achievements as well.
Out of 1,82,129 students who obtained GPA-5 in this year’s SSC and equivalent exams, 98,776 are female students and 83,353 are male.
Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel announced the summary of the results of SSC and equivalent examinations in front of journalists at the Ministry in Dhaka earlier today.
