Bangladesh make history with first Test win over Pakistan
Bangladesh created a historic moment in their cricket history, beating Pakistan in the Rawalpindi Test on Sunday by a big margin of 10 wickets.
It was Bangladesh’s first-ever Test win over Pakistan, and overall 20th win in the format.
In 2003, Bangladesh went as close as just one wicket from a win, but they were eventually denied by a great innings of Inzamam-ul-Haq. Twenty-one years later, Bangladesh finally registered a Test win over Pakistan.
Before this match, Bangladesh played 13 Tests against Pakistan and lost 12, with the other ending in a draw.
In the first innings of the match, Pakistan posted 448 for six and declared the innings. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan hit a century each for Pakistan.

For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud took two wickets each. In reply, Bangladesh posted 565 in their first innings— Bangladesh’s highest-ever Test total against Pakistan, with Mushfiqur Rahim scoring 191. Naseem Shah took three wickets for the hosts.
In their second innings, Pakistan consistently lost wickets at crucial moments, managing only a 29-run lead and setting Bangladesh a modest target of 30 runs to win.
For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took four wickets conceding only 21 runs, and Shakib Al Hasan took three wickets.
Shakib has now taken 707 wickets in international cricket, surpassing New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori's tally of 705 to become the highest wicket-taking left-arm spinner in history.
Bangladesh chased the target of 30 runs in just 6.3 overs, with Zakir Hasan hitting the winning shot.
