Zinat Ara, former Justice of the Appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Law Commission. The Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Law Ministry issued a notification to this end on Wednesday. Zinat Ara was the third female judge in the High Court Division and the second female judge in the Appellate Division. Besides, two separate notifications were issued appointing retired Justice Shamim Hasnain and Professor Dr. Naima Haque as members of the Commission. Their terms are set for three years, as stated in the notices.
