Although Iran is prone to earthquakes, a recent tremor on October 5 has sparked speculation that Iran may have carried out a nuclear test. Due to the location and time of the seismic activity, many connected it to Iran's nuclear program and questioned whether the Islamic nation was on the verge of developing its own nuclear weapon. At 10:45 a.m., Aradan County in Semnan Province had an earthquake with a Richter scale value of 4.4, according to Mehr News Agency. According to the University of Tehran's Institute of Geophysics, the earthquake occurred 12 kilometers below the surface.
