Bangladesh depression
Fresh depression threatens rainfall, temperature changes in Bangladesh
As the southwest monsoon winds have mostly withdrawn from Bangladesh, a potential depression in the southwestern Bay of Bengal could bring further rainfall for up to a week, warn meteorologists.
According to the latest forecast from the Meteorological Office, the 72-hour outlook indicates isolated showers or thunderstorms are expected in the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during the first 24 hours, with some areas possibly experiencing heavy rainfall.
In contrast, the remainder of the country is expected to remain predominantly dry with partially cloudy skies and daytime and nighttime temperatures are likely to remain relatively stable.
In the subsequent 24 hours, scattered rainfall may occur in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. Other regions will continue to see mainly dry weather alongside partial cloud cover, with temperatures expected to remain unchanged.
