A Dhaka court on Monday placed former law minister Anisul Huq on a 2-day fresh remand in a case filed over the killing of Swechasebak Dal leader Al Amin in the capital’s Badda area on August 5. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nurul Huda passed the order after hearing a petition. Though the defendant’s lawyers appealed for bail, the court rejected it. Later, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a city hospital. A case was filed in this connection later.
