Russian worker found dead at Rooppur Power Plant
A Russian worker was found dead in a washroom of the residential Green City of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project in Pabna, police said on Friday.
The deceased Ivan Kaitmazov (40) was employed at the power plant as an electric circuit installer with the project’s Skem Company, said Inspector (Investigation) Monirul Islam of Ishwardi Police Station.

His body was discovered five days after his death in the washroom of Flat No. 95, located on the 9th floor of Building 14, on Thursday (January 9) around 7 PM, police said.
Kaitmazov’s body was found with a rope tied around his neck. Green City doctor declared him dead at the scene. "Initially, it is suspected that he may have committed suicide," the inspector said.

A post-mortem examination will provide further details, he added.
This incident follows the death of another Russian worker, 40-year-old Pashataruk Ksenella, who jumped from the fourth floor of a 20-storey building at Green City on January 4.

A Russian woman working at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project in Ishwardi reportedly killed herself early Saturday after jumping from the fourth floor of a residential building in Green City.
The deceased, identified as Poshtaruk Ksenii, was an employee of SMU-1, a company involved in the power plant's construction.
Police said the incident took place around 4 am in flat 42 of building 9, part of the Green City residential complex for project staff.

A doctor on duty in Green City declared her dead at the scene shortly after the incident, according to the police.
Meanwhile, Pabna’s Additional Superintendent of Police Biplob Kumar Goswami and officer-in-charge (OC) Shahidul Islam of Ishwardi Police Station visited the spot.
OC Shahidul Islam said initial findings indicate that the incident might have stemmed from a quarrel between Ksenii and her husband.
Elderly woman burned by fire she lit to keep warm
He said security personnel from Green City have taken her husband for questioning to assist with the investigation.
The body has been sent to Pabna General Hospital for an autopsy, the OC added.
