A 60-year-old woman was killed, and her five-year-old grandson was injured after being hit by a brick-laden trolley in Sugandha area of Matlab North upazila in Chandpur on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Nurjahan Begum, wife of late Rafiqul Islam of Dashani village in Kalakanda union. The injured child, Morsalin, is the son of Md Musa from Hanirpar village in the same union. Sub-Inspector Md Sumon of Matlab North Police Station said the trolley driver fled the scene following the incident, but the vehicle has been seized. 2 die in Rajshahi road accident According to locals and the victim’s family, Nurjahan and Morsalin were walking along the roadside when a speeding trolley ran them over. Nurjahan died on the spot, while Morsalin sustained serious injuries. He was rescued and admitted to Matlab North Upazila Health Complex. Officer-in-Charge Md Rabiul Haque said that Nurjahan’s body has been kept at the police station, and legal action is underway.
