A Brahmanbaria court on Thursday convicted three people and sentenced them to death for killing a trader in 2019.
Brahmanbaria Additional District and Session Judge Ayesha Akter Shumi handed down the punishment.
The condemned convicts are identified as Kajal Mia, 49, son of Kabir Mia, Ripon Mia, 32, son of Abdul Khalek and Russel Mia, 30, son of Nazrul Islam of Bancharampur upazila of the district. Of them, Russel Mia tried in absentia.

The court also fined them Tk 50,000 each.
According to the prosecution, police recovered the body of Saidur Rahman, a fruit trader and son of Abul Malek of Baherchar village, from the launch ghat in Meghan River on September 29, 2019, one day after he had gone missing.
Lokman Mia, brother-in-law of Saidur filed a case with Bancharampur Police Station.
Police arrested Ripon and Kajal in this connection. They also gave confessional statements under section 164 before the court.
