BGB seizes 18 gold bars in Chuadanga
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized a total of 18 gold bars from two men after stopping and searching a bus in Chuadanga.
Colonel Md. Nazmul Hasan, commander of Chuadanga-6 BGB, said the two were detained during a raid in the Sorojganj Bazar area on the Chuadanga-Jhenaidah highway around 1 pm on Tuesday (March 4).
"Based on information, a bus of Purbasha Paribahan traveling from Dhaka was stopped, and two suspects were detained. A body search revealed 18 gold bars hidden in body, along with two mobile phones and Tk 10,190 in cash," he said.

The detainees are Md. Rafiqul Islam, son of late Khoda Box from Pirpurkullah village in Damurhuda, Chuadanga, and Md. Liton Khan, son of Moslem Uddin from Hossenpur village in Cumilla.
In this regard, Nayek Md. Saidur Rahman filed a case at Chuadanga Sadar Police Station. Additionally, the seized gold bars have been deposited at the Chuadanga Treasury Office, according to BGB.

Gold worth nearly Tk 3 crore found in cattle shed
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 6 Battalion has recovered four gold bars from an abandoned cattle shed in Hudapara village of Damurhuda upazila, Chuadanga.
The gold was reportedly stored for illegal smuggling into India. However, the house owner accused in the case remains at large.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by Lieutenant Colonel Nazmul Hasan, Director of Chuadanga Battalion (6 BGB), on Friday morning (Feb 28).
According to the press release, BGB was informed that a consignment of gold was hidden in an abandoned cattle shed near a border-side house in Hudapara, intended for smuggling into India.

Acting on the tip-off, a BGB team from Hudapara Border Outpost (BOP) conducted a raid on Thursday evening (Feb 27) at the abandoned cattle shed near the residence of Harun, son of late Ramzan Ali Khan. During the search, they successfully recovered four gold bars.
Lieutenant Colonel Nazmul Hasan told the media, “The estimated market value of the seized gold is Tk 2,84,30,150. A case has been filed at Damurhuda Model Police Station by Nayek Iqbal Hossain in this regard. The confiscated gold bars will be deposited at the Chuadanga Treasury Office.”
