Man sentenced to life imprisonment for murder in Munshiganj
A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Louhajong, Munshiganj, on charges of murdering and attempting to conceal the body of a woman in 2018.
The verdict was announced on Wednesday (March 5) at noon by Dr. Md. Alamgir, Judge of the Munshiganj Additional District and Sessions Judge Court.
The accused, Habibur Rahman Miji (35), is the son of Abdul Razzaq Miji from North Kurmira village in Tongibari.
The victim's brother, Noor Mohammad Dofftari (60), filed a case on March 22, 2018, with Tongibari Police Station, accusing Habibur Rahman Miji of murder.

Arif Hossain, government lawyer, stated, "The court has delivered the correct judgment. The state is satisfied with this verdict."
According to case and court sources, the victim, Saleha Uddin alias Dolly (30), from Lakharn village in Tongibari, was mentally ill. She left her home on March 2, 2018, without informing anyone. After failing to find her, her family filed a general diary.
On March 7, through a newspaper report, it was revealed that the accused, Habibur Rahman Miji, who lived as a tenant in Nopara, Louhajong, had hidden a woman's body in a secret room. Dolly's brother identified the body as his sister's.
Habibur Rahman claimed the body had washed up in the Padma River, but locals alerted the police, who recovered the body and arrested him. Later an investigation found Habibur had committed the murder.
