Imranur Rahman makes career best timing of 10.11 seconds in 100-metre sprint
Athlete Imranur Rahman, an England-based Bangladesh-origin sprinter, made his career-best time of 10.11 seconds in the 100-metre sprint in an competition held in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London recently.
The Bangladesh Athletics Federation recognised the personal best timing of the England-based Bangladesh-origin sprinter as Bangladesh's national record as the meet was approved and accredited by the World Athletics.

Imranur's performance is officially ranked and will be attached to his and Bangladesh's official databases.
Earlier, Imranur clinched the historic gold medal, the first-ever by any Bangladeshi athlete at the Asian level, in the men's 60-metre sprint of the 10th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships held at the Kazakhstan capital Astana last February.
This was the first ever medal for any Bangladeshi athlete in an Asian-level athletics championship.

The 29-year-old sprinter clinched the country's dream gold by winning the men's 60-metre sprint title with a record time of 6.59 seconds.
Imranur, who appeared in the country's athletics last year, emerged as the country's fastest man with a national record in his maiden competition with timing of 10.29 seconds.

He further improved his record at the Asian Athletics Championship held in Bangkok in July this year with a time of 10.25 seconds in the 100-metre sprint.
Bangladesh is expecting a good result from Imranur in this month's Asian Games to be held in China.

Jabbar er Boli Khela: Jibon Boli crowned as champion
Jibon Boli emerged as the champion of the 113th edition of popular and traditional wrestling competition of Chatttogram ‘Jabbar er Boli Khela’ on Monday.
Tariqul Islam Jibon Boli fom Chakaria upazila in Cox’s Bazar defeated earlier champion Shahjalal Boli from Cumilla and snatched the crown of champion. Jibon was also the champion of the competition’s 109 th edition.
The competition was held in a temporary sand ground at Laldighi Zilla Parishad Market premises on Monday.
Jibon struggled to floor Shajalal Boli several times throughout the championship bout but failed later he was announced champion by the referee on the basis of earned points.

National Chess: GM Enamul Hossain Razib emerges unbeaten champion
Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib emerged unbeaten champion in the 46th National Premier Chess Championship, securing 10 points from 13 matches at the end of the 13th and last round matches on Monday.
Bangladesh Chess Federation organized the meet, powered by Shah Cement, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Country’s Independence.
This was the 5th national crown for GM Razib.
Another Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh Ansar, who won the national chess title 14 times, became the runner-up securing nine and half points.

Last time champion country’s first Grandmaster Niaz Murshed of Bangladesh Ansar finished third place with 9 points.
Although Niaz dominated the meet with Grandmaster Razib till the 12th round, but he went down to 3rd slot after losing his lost match to International Master Mohammad Minhaz Uddin.
FIDE Master Mehedi Hasan Parag of Bangladesh Police secured the 4th position with seven and a half points.
International Master Mohammad Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy and Candidate Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Ansar have secured seven points each and will meet each other in play-off match for fifth place on Tuesday).
GM Reefat Bin Sattar of Bangladesh Ansar and GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib of Bangladesh Police earned 6.5 points each and they will meet each other in a play-off match for the 7th place.
Other positions are: 9th- CM Md Sharif Hossain of Bangladesh Navy, (six points), 10th-FM Subrota Biswas of Bangladesh Navy, (5.5 points) 11th-FM Debaraj Chatterjee of Barisal (5 points), 12th-CM Nayem Haque of Sirajganj,(4.5 points), 13th-CM Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Police, (4 points), and 14th- FM Khandaker Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy ( 3 points).

In the day’s 13th and last round matches, GM Razib beat FM Subrota; GM Zia beat CM Sharif, GM Niaz lost to IM Minhaz. FM Parag drew with GM Reefat, CM Tahsin drew with FM Debaraj and CM Neer drew with FM Amin.
Play-off matches for 5th and 7th position will be held on Tuesday from 3:pm at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room,
