Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud on Tuesday said that spreading rumors or propaganda on any issue including coronavirus is a criminal offense.

Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud and state minister Dr. Murad Hasan on Thursday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Jahanara Hossain, mother of Jatiya Press Club General Secretary Farida Yasmin.

Echoing the slogan of the organisers, Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud  brought the 18th Dhaka International Film Festival to a close on Sunday by saying that better films and better audiences, who support and appreciate all the efforts that go into what appears on screen, can indeed contribute to the betterment of society.

Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said on Sunday that the arrest warrant against Prothom Alo editor Motiur Rahman is not linked to media freedom.
