Islamic Foundation sets 1:30pm for Jumma prayers in country's all mosques
The Islamic Foundation has urged the authorities concerned to hold the Jumma (Friday) prayers at the same time in all mosques across the country.
In a press release on Sunday the Islamic Foundation said Friday is a day for communal gathering and is considered a weekly Eid. It holds special significance and sanctity due to the blessings and goodness present in a specific time on this day.

It observed that in Bangladesh, Jumma prayers are held at different times in different mosques — some start at 1:00 pm while others at 1:30 pm and some at 1:50 pm.
Due to this variation in timing, Muslim devotees — especially travelers and pedestrians — often face confusion and difficulties.
To resolve this issue and for the convenience of devotees the Islamic Foundation has called for Jumma prayers to be held uniformly at 1:30 pm in all mosques nationwide.
The press release concluded with a directive, requesting that necessary measures be taken to ensure the prayers are conducted at the same time — 1:30 PM — in all mosques within respective divisions and districts.
