CIPCC Asia-Pacific journalists begin CGTN internship to promote media exchange and culture
A group of journalists from the CIPCC Asia-Pacific group will participate in a week-long internship organised by China Global Television Network (CGTN), from 16 to 20 June.
The programme begins with immersive experience at the China Media Group (CMG) Headquarters in Beijing on Monday and Tuesday, where participants will be divided into groups and assigned to various departments aligned with their media backgrounds and languages.
From 18 to 20 June, the journalists will explore Tianjin, the host city of this year’s Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
This visit, titled "China Up Close: Tianjin Tour," is part of CGTN’s flagship initiative to showcase China’s vibrant culture, innovation, and development.
The programme will highlight Tianjin’s blend of historic charm and modern progress, including visits to ancient sites, martial arts, crafts, and cutting-edge industries such as smart factories and green ports.
Participants will also explore Luban Workshops, exemplifying China’s skill-sharing initiatives.
MA Ning, Executive Producer of Strategic Partnership & Marketing, Planning Department of CGTN, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, saying, "We’ll explore everything from ancient culture and traditions to China’s high-quality development in action. It’s an excellent opportunity for our partners to see China’s dynamic landscape and engage in meaningful dialogue."
A journalist from the CIPCC Asia-Pacific Group shared his excitement, stating, "As a journalist, I am very honoured to be part of this internship. It’s a great opportunity to learn from world-class journalists and gain insights into Chinese media practices."
He also admired CGTN for its comprehensive coverage and professionalism.
"I am eager to grow and develop my skills through this experience, which will help foster mutual understanding and cooperation between our media organisations," added the journalist.
This internship aims to deepen participants’ understanding of Chinese media philosophy and operations, promote international media exchange, and lay a strong foundation for future collaboration.
