No deviation in ministry work, no intention to resign: CR Abrar
Education Adviser CR Abrar on Wednesday said there was no deviation in the activities of the Education Ministry in taking decisions following the jet crash into Milestone School and College in Uttara, and he has no intention of resigning on his own.
“I have no intention to resign on my own. I don’t believe there was any lapse in my duties. Even then, if it is considered that there was deviation, I will leave if asked. There is nothing for me to cling to or justify myself,” Abrar told reporters at the Secretariat in response to a question.
On Tuesday, students staged demonstrations in front of the Bangladesh Secretariat and they later forcefully entered its premises demanding resignation of the education adviser and secretary.
The Education Secretary has already been removed.

Asked about the government’s stance on the demand for his resignation, Abrar said, “That’s for the government to decide. I am trying to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to me.”
When questioned whether he should remain in his position after such mismanagement in suspending the exam, he responded, “It seems you are already delivering the verdict. There hasn’t been any mismanagement. That’s what I’ve been trying to explain.”

Suspended HSC exams of July 22, 24 to be held on same day: Education Adviser
The postponed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for July 22 and 24 will now be held on the same day, Education Adviser C R Abrar said on Wednesday.
The exam that was supposed to be held on July 22 will be held in the morning, while the postponed exam of July 24 will be held in the afternoon of the same day, he said while talking to reporters at the Secretariat.

However, the specific date for rescheduling these two exams has not yet been decided, he added.
“We will notify the new exam date through an official announcement,” Abrar said.

HSC exams of July 24 postponed
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for July 24 have been postponed.
Education Adviser CR Abrar disclosed the decision during a visit to Milestone School and College campus on Tuesday morning.
He said the new date for the postponed HSC examination would be announced after the completion of the other exams.
According to the original exam routine, Economics First Paper and Engineering Drawing and Workshop Practice First Paper exams were scheduled to be held on July 24.
The HSC and equivalent exams scheduled for today were postponed after the BAF fighter jet crash in Uttara on Monday.

The death toll from the BAF jet crash at Milestone School and College has climbed to 31, according to the ISPR.
Earlier, CA’s Special Assistant Dr Sayedur Rahman at a briefing on Tuesday morning at the Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said the deceased included 25 children, one pilot and one teacher and 78 people are undergoing treatment at four hospitals.
