2 get life term for murder in Cumilla
A Cumilla court on Tuesday sentenced two people to life imprisonment and six others to ten years in jail for killing trader Yusuf Bhuiya Tipu in 2009.
Judge Sabbir Mahmud Chowdhury of the Cumilla Additional District and Session Judge Court-4, handed down the punishment.
The lifers were identified as Mehedi Hasan Jamshed, 21 and Shahidul Islam Masud, 32 of Feni district.
Those who got ten years in jail were identified as Jashim uddin Patowari, Jamal Hossain Manik, Ekramul Haque Milon, Ibrahim alias Boro Mia, Alauddin Tota and Shahabuddin.

The court also fined them Tk 50,000, in default, to suffer six months more in rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Yusuf Bhuiya, 28, a shoe trader of Chouddagram upazila of Cumilla, was shot dead by a group of robbers near his house on May 16, 2009.
Md Ali, father of Yusuf, filed a case in this connection.
In 2011, police submitted chargehseet against 17 people.
During the trial proceedings, three accused died.
The court also acquitted six others as allegations brought against them could not be proved.
