England’s Bangladesh tour deferred to March, 2023
The three-match ODI and T20I series between Bangladesh and England which were scheduled to take place in September-October this year have been deferred to March, 2023.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the development through a press release on Tuesday.

“BCB and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have mutually agreed to defer England’s planned tour to Bangladesh in September-October 2021 to March 2023. England were due to play three ODIs and three T20 internationals in Bangladesh this year,” the press release reads.
“According to the itinerary confirmed by the BCB and ECB, the England team will now tour Bangladesh in the first two weeks of March 2023 and play the best of three ODI and T20 international series’ in Dhaka and Chattogram,” the press release further reads.
Earlier on Monday, some media outlets from England reported that the tour of England to Bangladesh is cancelled. But the BBC CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told the local media that both the boards are discussing rescheduling the tour. However, the reason behind the decision remained unknown.

“We are discussing the ECB about rescheduling the tour of England to Bangladesh. We have a World Cup coming up. Every team has a tight schedule to meet. And at the same time, we have to think about the adequate rest of the players. It doesn’t mean that the series won’t take place,” Nizamuddin told the media Monday evening.
