Youth lynched in Faridpur for suspected theft
A young man was beaten to death in a lynch-mob attack on suspicion of being a thief at Khaminarbad union of Bhanga Upazila in Faridpur district early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Samad Sardar, 40, son of late Natu Sardar, a resident of Dangarpar village of Bhanga Upazila.
Local said a group of villagers caught Samad at night suspecting him to be a thief after seeing him roaming suspiciously in the village since afternoon.

On the other hand, the deceased’s family claimed that Samad, a sweetmeat vendor, was coming back home from Dhaka while a group of people picked him up and beat him mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot.
Ziarul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Police Station, said police sent the body to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Mob lynches two robbers to death in Cumilla
Angry mob lynched two robbers to death and left another one critically injured in Cumilla's Muradnagar early Friday, police said.
However, the identities of the deceased could not immediately be confirmed.

After the recent series of robberies in Palasuta village and surrounding areas, villagers are keeping a vigil at night to nab the criminals.
They caught the three robbers with local weapons as they took refuge at a Palasuta house after robbing villagers in another place of the upazila, Kamruzzaman Talukdar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Muradnagar Police Station, said.
After that, the locals surrounded the robbers and started assaulting them, leaving two of them dead and other seriously injured, the OC said.

The injured robber is undergoing treatment at Cumilla Medical College Hospital and still not out of the woods.
The bodies were sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem, the OC said.

2 ‘thieves’ lynched in Narail
Two suspected thieves were killed in a lynch-mob attack at Birgram in Sadar upazila of Narail district early Monday.
Among them, one was identified as Asadul Sheikh, 36, of Bagerhat.

A gang of cattle lifters entered the cowshed of Rebo Biswas in Birgram around 3.30am, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station Md Mahmudur Rahman.
Sensing the presence of the thieves, local people surrounded them and caught two of them while the others managed to flee.
The villagers beat up the two suspected thieves, leaving them dead, said the OC.

Later, police recovered the bodies from Narail-Gobra road and sent those to Narail Sadar Hospital morgue.
Besides, a case was filed in this regard, he added.

Laxmipur man lynched to death in Keraniganj for snatching
A man was lynched to death as he was trying to escape after snatching valuables from a pedestrian in Keraniganj Sunday night, police said.
The deceased was identified as Dhopa Billal from Laxmipur's Ramganj upazila, Mamunur Rashid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Keraniganj Model police station, said.
"Locals caught Billal as he tried to run away after snatching the valuables in the Berabad Road on the bank of the River Buriganga. They beat him mercilessly, killing him on the spot," he added.

On information, police went to the scene and sent the body to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A case was filed with Keraniganj police over the incident, Mamunur said.

Alleged ARSA leader found dead at Rohingya camp
An alleged Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) leader has been found dead at the Whykong Rohingya refugee camp in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Hashim, 32, son of late Nurul Amin of Camp No 22 of Unchiprang in Whykong union.

Whykong police outpost's sub-Inspector Mahabubur Rahaman said Hashim was probably lynched by a mob. "However, the exact cause of death will be clear after post-mortem," he said.
According to police sources, Hashim used to assault Rohingya Muslims, identifying himself as an ARSA leader.

Hashim was one of the masterminds behind the recent assassination of top Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah, the sources said, not ruling out his involvement in the madrasa attack.
Md Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of the Teknaf police station, said the body was sent to the Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
