Chattogram army operation seizes weapons and drugs, 2 arrested
The army on Monday arrested two armed militants with a large cache of weapons and drugs during a special operation in Dharmapur area of Fatikchhari upazila in Chattogram.
Acting on secret information, troops from the Fatikchhari Army Camp under Laxichhari zone conducted the operation in the late night of Monday to early morning of Tuesday.
The arrested were identified as Md. Rafiqul (55) and Md. Moin Uddin (36), son of Abdul Malek of Dharmapur village in Fatikchhari.

During the operation, the army recovered a significant amount of domestic and illegal firearms, ammunition, and drugs. Seized items include two shotguns, a pistol, an airgun, a dummy pistol, a .303 caliber bullet, a shotgun shell, three used shotgun cartridges, 100 rounds of airgun ammunition, five sharp machetes, a foreign knife, a dagger, and nearly four liters of locally brewed alcohol.
An army officer said the arrested militants are being handed over to Fatikchhari police for legal action.
He added that such operations will continue in the future to ensure national peace, security, and stability and to combat terrorism and crime.
