Bhooth Bangla crosses Rs 100 crore, stays ahead as dhurandhar 2 keeps strong run
The box office battle between ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ remains intense, with both films continuing to draw audiences in theatres.
Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bhooth Bangla’ has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in its second week, while Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is still performing strongly even in its sixth week.
According to Sacnilk, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ earned Rs 10.75 crore on its second Saturday from 9,266 shows. With this, the film’s total India gross reached Rs 120.10 crore, while its India nett stood at Rs 100.90 crore.
The horror-comedy had collected Rs 84.40 crore nett in its first week in India and Rs 135.45 crore globally. On its seventh day, it made Rs 5.15 crore, showing a steady trend during weekdays after a strong opening weekend.
Meanwhile, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ continues its impressive run. On its 38th day, the film collected around Rs 2.95 crore, taking its India nett total to Rs 1,127.14 crore, Sacnilk reported.
The two films also show different audience trends. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ saw high occupancy between 54 percent and 76 percent in its early days, but this has now dropped to single digits. In contrast, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ recorded weekday occupancy between 12 percent and 20 percent, with better turnout on weekends.
Earlier, Akshay Kumar said both films cater to different audiences. He described ‘Dhurandhar’ as a film for adults, while ‘Bhooth Bangla’ is aimed at families and children.
"There are different kinds of films being made. Dhurandhar is a great film, I've seen it. This (Bhoot Bangla) is a different film. Dhurandhar is an adult film, this (Bhoot Bangla) is for kids and families. When we made this film, we didn't look at what the current trend is. We rather looked at whether the story was good or not, and accordingly, we made this film. We never thought about the trend," he told PTI in an interview.

Dhurandhar 2’s watches: from Rs 9,000 G-shocks to Rs 44 lakh Rolex
The luxury watches in ‘Dhurandhar 2’ are more than just accessories they reflect the personalities, power, and worlds of the characters. From rugged field-ready timepieces to high-end statement pieces, each watch is carefully chosen to convey style, status, and intention.
Hamza Ali Mazari’s collection spans extremes. For high-power moments, he sports the ‘Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 126503’, a 40 mm two-tone Oystersteel and yellow gold chronograph with a golden dial, tachymeter bezel, and 72-hour power reserve. Priced around Rs 18–22 lakh, it signals wealth and authority, even if it slightly predates the film’s timeline. On the battlefield, he switches to the ‘Casio G-Shock GA-100-1A1’, a shock-resistant, water-resistant, analog-digital watch built to endure extreme conditions, priced at Rs 7,500–9,500. A simpler G-Shock variant also features in his rotation, highlighting the character’s mix of practicality and occasional flair.
Jameel Jamali favors the ‘Rolex Day-Date ‘President’, a pure power watch crafted from 18 ct yellow gold, with a fluted bezel, President bracelet, and day-date display. Marketed at Rs 44 lakh+, it mirrors Jameel’s flashy and authoritative persona, symbolizing influence and prestige.
Uzair Baloch, meanwhile, opts for functionality over flash with the ‘Casio G-Shock Mudmaster GG-1000-1A3’, designed for harsh environments. Shock-proof, mud-proof, water-resistant up to 200 metres, and featuring a compass and thermometer, this watch, priced around Rs 70,000–75,000, fits the chaotic, survivalist edge of Uzair’s world.
Whether it’s Rolex luxury or G-Shock toughness, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ uses watches to deepen character storytelling. Each wrist accessory becomes a statement—highlighting status, personality, and the tension between glamour and grit.

Aditya Dhar unbothered by talk of Pakistan ban on ‘Dhurandhar 2’
Director Aditya Dhar says he is not worried about a possible ban on his upcoming film ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ in Pakistan.
The action film, starring Ranveer Singh, is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, with paid preview shows beginning on the evening of March 18.
Dhar, who has directed only two films so far, has already gained wide recognition in India. He began his career as an assistant director under filmmaker ‘Priyadarshan ‘and also worked as a lyricist before establishing himself as a director and producer. He currently runs B62 Studios with his brother Lokesh Dhar.
His first film, ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ (2019), was based on India’s military response to the 2016 Uri attack carried out by Pakistan-based militants. The film, starring Vicky Kaushal, became a major box-office success and won four National Film Awards, including Best Director for Dhar and Best Actor for Kaushal. It also earned awards for Best Audiography and Best Music Director, with composer Shashwat Sachdev returning for the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise.
Responding to questions about a potential ban in Pakistan, Dhar said it does not concern him. According to the filmmaker, if Pakistani audiences watch the film, they will understand that it does not target the people of Pakistan but speaks only against terrorism.
“If viewers trust us and watch the film once, they will realise it says nothing against the Pakistani public. It only speaks against terrorism,” he said.
Despite restrictions, the first ‘Dhurandhar’ gained significant attention in Pakistan. Pirated DVDs reportedly sold for about Rs16, while the film saw more than two million illegal downloads in the country within 12 days of its release.
When the film later arrived on Netflix in January, it reportedly became the platform’s top title in Pakistan.

In addition to the music deal, JioHotstar has secured the digital streaming rights for the film, reportedly outbidding Netflix. According to sources quoted by India Today, the sequel has generated strong pre-release buzz and has already been labelled a potential blockbuster by trade analysts.
The film sees Ranveer Singh in the role of Hamza Ali Mazhari, an Indian intelligence operative who has entrenched himself in Pakistan’s underworld after eliminating dreaded gangster Rehman Dakait. However, his rise draws the attention of Major Iqbal, a shrewd and ruthless ISI strategist known as Bade Sahab, setting the stage for a high-stakes confrontation.
Dhurandhar 2 features an ensemble cast including R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun. It is the second installment in a planned two-part franchise centred on espionage, terrorism and intense action. #With inputs from NDTV
