Voters can find voter numbers, polling stations in four ways
Voters will be able to know their voter numbers and polling stations through four simple methods during the upcoming referendum and the 13th national parliamentary election, scheduled to be held on February 12.
The Election Commission has introduced the four methods to ensure voters’ convenience and enable them to quickly and accurately access their voter-related information, including voter number and polling station name, said EC Director (Public Relations) Ruhul Amin Mollik on Saturday.
According to the EC, voters can access the information using mobile applications, hotline services, SMS and the EC’s website.
Method-1: Smart Election Management BD App
A voter can obtain his or her voter number and polling station details through the ‘Smart Election Management BD’ mobile application. To use this service, a voter needs to download and install the app from the Play Store or App Store.
After opening the app, users must select ‘13th National Parliamentary Election’ from the dashboard and click on the ‘Find Polling Station’ option. By entering their National Identity (NID) numbers and date of birth, a voter will be able to see his or her voter number, voter serial number, polling station name, and address.
Method-2: Hotline Number 105
Any voter across Bangladesh can call the hotline number 105 to know his or her voter number and polling station information. After calling 105, voters need to press 9 to speak to an operator.
To receive the information, voters must provide their NID number and date of birth. The hotline service will remain available daily from 6:00am to 12:00am.
Method-3: SMS Service to 105
Voters can also obtain their information through SMS to 105. To do so, they need to go to the message option on their mobile phone and send an SMS to 105 in the following format: A voter needs to write ‘PC <space> NID number’ in text option and send it to 105. Voters will receive a reply SMS containing their voter number and polling station details.
Method-4: EC’s website – www.ecs.gov.bd
Voters can also access polling station information through the Election Commission’s website. Using any browser on a laptop, desktop, or mobile device, voters need to enter ecs.gov.bd website and click on the ‘Polling Station’ menu.
Election Commission imposes vehicle restrictions ahead of polls
There are two ways to search for polling stations on the website. First, voters can select their constituency and upazila/thana to view the list of polling stations. Second, voters can search by entering their NID number and date of birth to directly obtain their voter number and polling station details.
The website also allows voters to view the exact location of polling stations on Google Maps, providing information on distance and directions to reach the polling stations.
The Election Commission on December 11 last announced the polls schedule to arrange the 13th parliamentary election and the referendum on the July National Charter (Constitutional Reform) Implementation Order simultaneously on February 12, 2026.
