Two killed, six injured in Mymensingh filling station fire
A massive fire at Azahar Filling Station at Rahmatpur Bypass Road in Mymensingh Sadar killed two people and injured six others on Monday.
One of the deceased has been identified as Himel, 30, son of Jamal Uddin from Kichmot village within the Mymensingh city corporation.

The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment, police said.
The fire reportedly broke out around 2:35 pm, following an explosion that occurred while gas was being unloaded from an LPG-carrying lorry at the filling station, according to Md. Mozammel Hossain, Deputy Director of Mymensingh Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Seven firefighting units promptly responded to the emergency, managing to bring the flames under control by nearly 3:25 pm.

Following the incident, the Deputy Commissioner constituted a three-member committee tasked with investigating the cause of the explosion.
The committee was instructed to submit its report within three working days.

Two killed, 20 hurt in road crash on Bangabandhu Expressway
Two persons were killed and twenty others sustained injuries in a road crash in Srinagar upazila of the Bangabandhu Expressway in Munshiganj Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Tahsan, 6, of Kalkini in Madaripur upazila and Abdul Quddus, 35, from Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan upazila.
However, the identities of the injured could not be confirmed immediately thereafter.
The accident occurred near Keutkhali in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj of Dhaka-Bhanga Bangabandhu Expressway on Sunday afternoon.

Afzal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Hansara Highway Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound Shariatpur Paribahan bus broke down on the west lane of the expressway. When its passengers were boarding a Molla Paribahan bus, another Sakura Paribahan bus hit the bus. Subsequently, another bus hit the bus, leaving two people dead and 20 others injured, added the officer.
The injured were admitted to the Upazila Health Complex.
Police seized three of four buses but drivers managed to flee, the OC said.

Two killed as bus rams into human hauler in Dhaka's Mirpur
Two people were killed and four injured as a bus crashed into a human hauler, locally known as "Laguna," in Dhaka's Mirpur Beribadh Sunday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Jubayer Hossain, 18, and Rubel, 45.
Shah Ali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Al-Amin said the accident occurred at 1:15 pm. "The injured were rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital where Jubayer Hossain was declared dead upon arrival," the SI said.

Three of the injured were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and two others to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR).
Rubel succumbed to his injuries at DMCH around 5pm, Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said.
"Inured Milon Gazi is undergoing treatment at the hospital and another person went home after receiving primary treatment."

Two killed in Dhaka road accidents
Two people were killed in separate road accidents in the capital's Khilgaon and Jatrabari Friday, police said.
Amena Bibi, 80, was a resident of Khilgaon's Nandipara and Siddique Ali, 34, was from Jhenaidah.
A battery-run auto-rickshaw hit Amena in front of her house in Nandipara as she went outside for morning walk.
Later, the 80-year-old was rushed to Magda General Hospital and declared dead at 6:30am, said Mosammat Sonia Parveen, sub-inspector of Khilgaon Police Station.

In Jatrabari's Matuail, Siddique, a truck driver's assistant, was killed after being run over by a truck at 8:30am.
He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and declared dead at 9:45am, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost.
Both bodies were kept at DMCH morgue for autopsies.

Two killed, 2 injured in Joypurhat road accident
At least two people were killed and two others were injured after a covered van hit a van in Keser Mor area of Akkelpur municipality in Joypurhat on Saturday noon.
The deceased were identified as van driver Sujon Hossain, 41, son of Abul Hossain of Chak Roghunathpur village, and passenger Sabbir Hossain, 21, son of Babor Ali of East Matapur village.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Akkelpur Police Station Saidur Rahman said Sumaiya Khatun, daughter of Babar Ali of East Matapur village, along with her mother and elder brother Sabbir went to Akkelpur Technical School and College on Saturday morning for admission.

The accident took place when one of the wheels of the van broke and the driver lost control. At that time, a covered van coming from Joypurhat hit the passenger van killing two people on the spot.
Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Akkelpur Upazila Health Complex, the OC said.
Police seized the covered van but its driver and helper managed to flee, he added.

Three killed in separate ‘gunfights’ in three districts
Two alleged robber gang leaders and a drug trader were killed in separate 'gunfights' with police and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Pabna, Dinajpur and Bagerhat on early Tuesday.
In Pabna, Sarwar Saro alias Shahin Alam, 36, son of Harun-or-Rashid, of Santhia upazila, was killed in an alleged gunfight with police.
Goutam Kumar Biswas, additional superintendent of police, said acting on a tip-off, police and Detective Branch members jointly raided Shamukjani Bazar in Santhia upazila at 2am.
As soon as the law enforcers reached the area, the robbers opened fired, triggering a skirmish, the ASP added.
Sarwar, injured in the gunfight, was arrested from the spot and taken to Pabna General Hospital where the doctor pronounced him dead, the police officer said.
In Dinajpur, alleged drug trader Md Ferdous Fahim, 38, of Aolakuri village in Birganj upazila was killed in a reported gunfight with police.
Moniruzzaman Monir, officer-in-charge of Birampur Police Station, said tipped-off that drug traders were bringing drugs from bordering area, police took position beside Mirpur field.
The drug traders fired at police and Fahim was killed in the ensuing gunfight, the OC said.
He was accused in several cases, he added.
A pipe gun, three bullets, three cartridges, a sharp weapon, two daggers and 100 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from the spot.
In Bagerhat, an alleged robber gang leader was killed in a reported gunfight with Rab in Kodalia canal area under Sundarbans East Zone under Mongla upazila.
The deceased was identified as Faruk Moral, 38, son of Akbar Moral, a resident of Kolabagi village under Dacope upazila in Khulna.
Lt Col Rawshanul Firoz of Rab-6 said they conducted a drive in the area at 7am in the morning.
As soon as they reached the area, robbers fired at them triggering a skirmish that lasted for about 40 minutes, he added.
Later, Rab arrested Faruk from the spot and took him to Mongla Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared him dead, he said.
Faruk formed a gang of five to six robbers a few days back and committed robbery in the area, the Rab official said quoting local fishermen.
