Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated a Baishakhi agricultural fair at the Tangail municipal park here on Tuesday. He opened the fair after attending the Farmers’ Card pre-pilot inauguration programme at the Shaheed Maruf Stadium earlier in the day. Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said Tarique Rahman went to the fair venue adjacent to the stadium after completing the Farmers’ Card event and visited different stalls there. Govt aims to make farmers self-reliant, prosperous: PM He observed various agricultural products and activities being showcased at the fair and interacted with participants. During the visit, the Prime Minister also distributed fish fry among fish farmers and goats to some poor farmers. Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku and senior government officials were present on the occasion.
