Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) on Thursday handed over more than 40,000 Dengue NS1 Rapid Diagnostic Test kits in a bid to strengthen the capabilities of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in tackling the country’s current dengue situation. The test kits were procured with strategic support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Swiss Red Cross and the Danish Red Cross. Chairman of BDRCS, Barrister Md. Abdus Salam formally presented the testing kits to Professor Dr Halimur Rashid, Director of Non-Communicable Disease Control at BDRCS National Headquarters in the capital. Professor Dr. Md. Rafiqul Kabir, Vice Chairman of BDRCS; Dr. Abu Md. Mofakharul Islam (Rana), Treasurer; Dr. Kabir M. Ashraf Alam  Secretary General; and Brigadier General Dr. S M Humayun Kabir (Retd.), Director of Health and other senior officials from both organizations were present.
