Speaker reminds MPs not to use mobile phones during House proceedings
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad on Tuesday reminded lawmakers to refrain from using mobile phones during parliamentary proceedings, saying the practice is against the rules and undermines the dignity of the House.
He made the remarks after noticing a lawmaker using a mobile phone openly during the sitting.
Addressing the MP, the Speaker said, "Some members use mobile phones discreetly, but you are using it quite openly. Please do not use a mobile phone in the House."

He stressed that the restriction applies equally to all members and urged them to uphold the dignity and decorum of Parliament.
"It is against parliamentary practice. This rule applies to everyone. I expect all members to maintain the dignity of the House," Hafiz Uddin said.
The brief intervention came during the day's proceedings to pass a bill as the Speaker reiterated the importance of observing parliamentary etiquette and discipline inside the House.
