Assam flood death toll rises to 31
The death toll from the ongoing floods in India's northeastern state of Assam has risen to 31, Indian media says on Wednesday.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, more than half a million people remain affected across 16 flood-hit districts.
The authority said floodwaters have inundated 872 villages and damaged over 24,210 hectares of cropland in the affected areas.
