Gaza aid worker strike
Australia, Canada, UK slam Israel's decision to close Gaza aid worker strike probe
Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom have jointly condemned Israel’s "shameful" decision to close its criminal investigation into the April 2024 airstrike on a World Central Kitchen convoy in Gaza.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministries of the three nations described Israel’s announcement-released on World Humanitarian Day—as "particularly egregious," emphasizing that the families of the seven deceased aid workers deserve justice and full accountability.
The governments characterized the deadly convoy attack as one of "countless incidents" in Gaza that have lacked accountability. They urged Israel to comply with its international legal obligations and establish safety guarantees to ensure humanitarian workers can operate securely in the conflict zone.
